DIRKIE UYS TURNS 70 🎂

What an eventful day it was !

Our learners got to celebrate Dirkie Uys turning 70 years old in the best way possible... pure fun, pure joy !

As our school reaches another milestone we want to thank every teacher, parent and most of all learner who has been part of the Dirkie Uys journey.

You play an important role in the school !

We would also like to thank every teacher for your hard work to make this day a success. This has been months of planning, and many 'hiccups' on the way, but we made it a success.
And to our parents, thank you for coming to enjoy this day with us.
And lastly, but most importantly, our learners. You boys and girls have been a treat on this day.

We could see that today was just a FUN DAY 😊

DIRKIE UYS SHINES WITH MATH WHIZ 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

A few of Dirkie Uys's Grade 4 to 7 learners took part in a maths competition hosted by 24 SumMore Maths.

The learners did extremely well, showing of their math whiz skills on different mathematical levels.

The learners achieved certificates based on the following categories:

The Top 6 learners who participated in the final round of the school competition:

And special congratulations goes out to our top two learners, Zidane Naidoo and Kyrique Ranson, who achieved the highest scores.
They will be representing Dirkie Uys in the next round of the competition.
We wish them all the very best and know they will make us proud.

Dirkie Uys ignites Team Building 💪

On Friday, 24 June 2026, our Grade 6 and 7 learners partook in a team building excursion at Giba Gorge.

The learners excitement, energy and spirit was full force 🤩

We want to thank Giba Gorge for allowing Dirkie Uys to be part of this experience 🙂

DIRKIE UYS SHOWS KZN COLOURS

For the past three years, Khloe, Grade 6, has been a proud member of the Durban Crest Majorettes family.

This season, she stepped into the role of Sub Leader, leading with confidence, commitment, and determination while setting a wonderful example for her teammates.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Khloe on achieving her KZN Colours in Majorettes this season.

This outstanding achievement is a true reflection of her hard work, perseverance, and passion for the sport.

As she continues working towards earning her SAMCA Colours, we know her dedication and drive will take her even further.

DIRKIE UYS WAS SHINING THIS JULY HOLIDAY

Olivia, Grade 7, and her team took part in the Drummies Nationals during the July Holiday.

They came, 8th overall in South Africa at Nationals. This is a massive achievement 🏆🇿🇦 The hard work, the early mornings, the teamwork it all showed.

And to *Olivia*, stepping up as first-time leader and placing 8th herself... you led with heart, courage, and such grace under pressure.

Nationals wasn’t just a competition, it was a masterclass in growth, grit, and learning. You walked away stronger, wiser, and with memories to last a lifetime.

Olivia is off to High School next year and will be joining Durban Girls Majorettes Team 2027 and continue with her dream.
