Sports Day + 45th Anniversary Celebrations🎉

On Friday, 29 May 2026, we celebrated 45 years of Longcroft Primary with a Sports Day full of energy and team spirit.

Congratulations to the "Diamond" house who achieved victory and won.
All houses did well - Sapphire, Crystal and Pearl competed with courage and pride from start to finish.

Our children gave their all in every event: the relays, novelty races, 60m, 80m, 100m and all other races. It was brilliant to see the effort, sportsmanship, and smiles all round.

Here’s to 45 years of Longcroft spirit, and a fantastic Sports Day to remember.

Longcroft Primary School Sports Week

Field events took place this week at Longcroft Primary, with learners competing in high jump and long jump.

Today was tug-of-war, and the field came alive as the four houses went head-to-head. *Pearl, Diamond, Sapphire, and Crystal* all brought incredible energy, teamwork, and determination.
It was brilliant to see the learners giving their all, cheering each other on, and showing real house pride out on the rope.

Friday is Sports Day with the races to finish the week. The excitement is already building!

Well done to all four houses for making it such a fantastic week of sport.

Longcroft Primary School celebrated Freedom Day with a day full of meaning and pride.*
Learners delivered speeches and poems that spoke about what freedom means to them, and the energy lifted as they performed a powerful freedom dance together. The highlight was a role play on the first election in South Africa — the historic 1994 vote where South Africa got freedom — with learners acting as voters and officials to show exactly how democracy began. Acting out the election taught them that freedom wasn’t just given; it was won when ordinary people stood in line to vote. From words to movement to stepping into history, the day helped every child understand that their vote will matter too one day, and celebrate the freedom our country won🇿🇦

World Book Day at Longcroft Primary was celebrated with an assembly that brought everyone together around the love of reading!📖
Our learners stood proudly to share speeches about why books and reading is important — how stories teach them new things, and help them dream big.
Between the speeches, songs were sang about reading and imagination that had the whole assembly joining in.
Let’s keep making time for books every day📕📗📘
