Our girls had an absolute blast at their concert "Under the Sea". The scary sharks 🦈, juggling jellyfish 🪼, shimmering fish 🐟 and massive whales 🐋 had the audience involved in an ocean jam. It was an amazing performance encompassing poems, songs and factual information about sea creatures that form part of our beautiful planet.

Our preschoolers had an exciting adventure exploring their senses🖐👅👀👂👃. Learning is always impactful when the children participate actively and have fun.

GRGS Preschoolers Celebrating Heritage Day 2023 ❤️

A most successful Preschool sports day was held last week. The excitement in the air was palpable. The Grade 1 girls were invited to attend. An enthusiastic group of girls participated in the flat, relay and novelty races. The mums and dads had their own flat race and were cheered on by their delighted daughters. What a wonderful way to keep fit and exercise. Events such as these reinforce a healthy lifestyle.

We celebrate different types of special days that peak our girl's interest.

Our learners wore their Bokke shirts and Bokke colours in support of Springboks who will be playing on Sunday.

Our girls get enjoy swimming🏊, music🎶, drama🎭, computers💻 and chess♟ which is incorporated into their school day.
Reading📕 time is important as it develops vocabulary and imagination.

Today we acknowledged the wonderful role Miss Jonathan plays in the preschool...our financial secretary, admissions clerk and outstanding manager of the GRGS Educational Trust Preschool affairs.

Her cheerful and friendly disposition brightens our day. Thanks for being such a team player, we value you!

We are excited to announce that our school is hosting an OPEN DAY on 9 September 2023 from 9AM to 11AM. We are inviting you to come over and take a tour of our facilities. We offer limited spaces for Grade 000 to 7 for the 2024 academic year.

Reading and books are key cornerstones to promoting literacy. Book character day was celebrated and enjoyed by the GRGS preschoolers.

The event runs from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, ensuring a day filled with joy for all.

We've curated a diverse selection of stalls and businesses, showcasing and selling their finest goods. Feast your senses on an assortment of food stalls, engaging games, thrilling inflatable rides, and a delightful coffee shop. Entertainment will be in abundance, guaranteeing a day of non-stop amusement.

And the best part? Entry is entirely FREE, and we warmly welcome everyone to join in the festivities. Bring your loved ones and friends along for an unforgettable day.

Moreover, the ladies from Pink Drive will be present, providing a valuable service with Free clinical breast examinations and one-on-one consultations with a nurse. Your well-being is our priority, and we're here to support you.

Term 2 ended with a bang! Our preschoolers joined DPHS Grade R's for a fun walk this morning. The war cries between the boys and girls spurred them all on to run rather than walk. Exhausted after their 10 laps, they enjoyed a refreshing ice lolly and had a picnic with the boys thereafter. What a wonderful way to start the holidays.

Birthdays are simply the best!
Music, movement and fun are key elements in celebrating our learner's uniqueness at the Preschool.

Happy Father's Day to all our dads!!

Our Preschoolers had a busy week creating their Father's Day card and gift👨‍👧. Their excitement and hard work has most certainly paid off with the wonderful momento their fathers will receive.

Chess forms part of our girls' curriculum. It develops logic, critical thinking and creativity from a young age. Chess involves both sides of the brain, cognitive functioning such as memory, concentrating and problem solving are enhanced. This is enjoyed weekly with lessons held both indoors and outside in the garden.

Games such as these play a large part in the development of our preschool learners. They learn to interact positively with their peers and form lifelong friendships. At Gordon Road Girls' Preschool, we place emphasis on emotional intelligence and social skills.

The Preschool held a sponsored walk on 26 April. The girls had great fun with their parents as they completed 15 laps around the course. Events such as these are extremely beneficial as the parents are able to interact and participate in their daughter's educational journey. With the perfect weather🏖 on the day, our girls enjoyed a picnic🧺 under the trees🌳 with their mums and dads.

Our girls' do activities to enhance their fine motor skills🪡🧩 as well as interacting amicably with their peer group. The girls then commence with the academic programme set for the day.

We wish all our families a peaceful holiday and look forward to a productive and exciting second term😁!!!

Our preschoolers were treated to a wonderful morning with the Grade 4 girls. The annual “buddy reading” event allows the senior GRGS girls to develop their reading skills and our preschoolers to develop a love of stories. This event always motivates our little preschoolers to read.

Enrol your daughter in the Preschool and enjoy the benefits of the GRGS main school as well. The girls have the advantage of sharing the facilities for an all rounded, holistically developed curriculum. They use the pool where swimming lessons🏊‍♀️ take place twice weekly, the music🎼 and drama🎭 rooms for their cultural development and the computer room for computers💻, robotics and coding at an age-appropriate level. An Open day is scheduled soon. Spread the word amongst family and friends and view our Preschool and all that it encompasses on the 11th March from 9:00am - 11:00am.

The girls arrived at school yesterday morning on an extremely hot day with temperatures expected to rise to over 38 degrees🥵. The girls had a quick dip in the pool🏊‍♀️ at 7:30 before returning to the Trust houses.
Sprinkler fun was under way to assist our Preschoolers cool off for their day. Laughing and running through the spray, they cooled down and were able to settle into the routine of our day😀. Staff are cognisant of the fact that our little ones can get easily sunburnt as well as becoming dehydrated. We ensure their water bottles are readily available as well as shady outdoor play.

As our mums arrived for the Valentines Tea, the girls greeted them with a welcome song and proceeded onto the verandah. Seated at the tables with their daughter, they iced queen cakes and biscuits with their mum🧁🍪 The decorated cup cakes looked delicious and they enjoyed consuming the treats. Our mothers had an opportunity to meet and chat to mums they had not met before. This event forged new friendships within our parent body. We look forward to hosting many more events this year and are delighted to have the wholehearted support of our GRGS family.

An excited group of preschoolers arrived on Tuesday morning, 14 February, for a fun filled morning of socialising with their peers. They looked delightful and decked with Valentine heart alice bands, dressed in red, pink and white attire🤍❤️. They participated in activities such as puzzles, pegboard play and construction toys amongst others in anticipation for when their mums arrive.
