โMy colleague Ms Dorasamy and I are trading our usual office wear for the green and gold today. Thereโs nothing quite like the power of sport to bring people together, and the energy in the office is unmatched as we gear up for Bafana Bafanaโs massive opening game against Mexico tonight. Win or lose, weโre standing firmly behind the boys. Wishing the team the absolute best of luck!โ said Mseleku.

We kick off the new week by extending our heartfelt congratulations to ๐๐ซ ๐๐ฅ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ญ๐ซ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐ญ๐ฅ๐ข, who was conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Management Sciences Specialising in Marketing, during the Durban University of Technology (DUT)โs 2026 Autumn Graduation Ceremony. Dr Matli is an academic in our Department of Marketing and Retail Management.

According to the summary of the study, typically studies have investigated the adoption of online Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Dr Matliโs study investigates the factors influencing the non-adoption of online shopping for FMCG among South African consumers, given that the adoption of online FMCG shopping remains low.
She found that while traditional technology-related factors such as negative performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions were not significant predictors of non-adoption, relational and trust-based constructs were found to be significant predictors of non-adoption.
The study contributes by inverting the adoption paradigm and offering practical insights for research practitioners and retailers to design interventions that foster trust and inclusive digital participation in South Africaโs evolving e-commerce landscape.
She was supervised by ๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ.
