We recently hosted a Human Rights Day discussion with our learners, where students engaged in a powerful debate on the topic: β€œEducation as a Human Right.”

Learners shared important views on equality, access to education, and the challenges faced by many young people in receiving quality education. Some highlighted that education should be free and accessible to all, while others discussed the realities of limited resources and the need for responsibility in using opportunities given.

The discussion also touched on key issues such as poverty, bullying, gender-based violence, and the role of education in building a better future.

This session allowed learners to think critically, express their voices, and understand both their rights and responsibilities in society.

At POMAS, we believe that empowering young minds through education is the foundation for stronger communities.

Education is a right. Knowledge is power.

Today we share a behind-the-scenes look at our visit to Mbelebele Secondary School, beautifully captured by BMK Productions.
This experience reminded us why POMAS exists β€” to inspire, empower, and support young learners through education, motivation, and opportunity.

Thank you to Intokozo FM and the school management for making this initiative possible.
Together, we are building a stronger future for the youth of Umlazi. πŸ“šβœ¨

POMAS Visits Umbelebele Secondary School β€” Umlazi Q Section

Yesterday, Power of Maths and Science (POMAS) had the honour of visiting Umbelebele Secondary School as part of a powerful educational initiative led by Intokozo FM. We are grateful to have been invited to join this movement, which aims to inspire, empower, and support learners across Umlazi.

Our team engaged with learners, shared information about our programmes, and encouraged them to believe in their potential. Seeing their excitement and willingness to learn reminded us why community-driven education is so important.

A heartfelt thank you to Intokozo FM for bringing organisations together for the benefit of our young people. We look forward to more school visits and continuing to make a positive impact in our community.

Together, we are unleashing excellence.

On Friday, 27 February 2026, I had the honour of attending the Top Achievers Awards ceremony at Inkongozelo Primary School, hosted in partnership with Intokozo FM.

It was a proud and inspiring moment to witness learners being recognised for their hard work and outstanding academic performance from last year. Celebrating excellence at foundation phase level reminds us how important it is to nurture discipline, dedication and confidence from a young age.

As Power of Maths and Science, we were privileged to deliver a message of support and to be part of the award handover. Seeing the excitement on the faces of the learners and their families was truly rewarding.

I would like to sincerely appreciate all stakeholders and sponsors who made this day possible: Africorim Foundation, Cell C, uShaka Marine World Durban, Premiers Food, CPF, SAPS, ITC, AFCO, and Intokozo FM under the leadership of Mr Mxolisi Ntanzi.

Thank you to the school management team, educators and parents for continuously supporting these young achievers.

To the learners: this is only the beginning. Keep working hard, stay focused and continue striving for excellence. Your future is bright.
