Train the Brain: Neuroscience of Behaviour. I don't want to fix you, I just want to help you become your best self. Harnessing the power of neuroplasticity!

Tools and practical tips to tune up your nervous system.

You Have Literally Stones Inside Your Head 🪨🧠

Deep inside your inner ear, hidden within microscopic chambers, lie tiny calcium carbonate crystals called otoconia — and they are the reason you can tell which way is up.

These miniature geological formations are embedded in a gel-like membrane inside the utricle and saccule, two small fluid-filled pouches of the vestibular system. When your head moves or tilts, the crystals shift under the force of gravity and press against specialized hair cells beneath them. Those hair cells then send signals to your brain, allowing it to calculate your body's orientation in space — in real time, constantly, without you ever thinking about it.

Otoconia are made of calcite, the same mineral found in limestone and chalk, and measure just three to thirty micrometres in length. Each human ear contains hundreds of thousands of them. They begin forming before birth and gradually change in density and shape over a lifetime.

When these crystals become dislodged and migrate into the wrong canal, the result is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) — a condition that causes sudden, disorienting spins with even the slightest head movement. It is one of the most common causes of vertigo worldwide.
Your sense of balance is, quite literally, built on stone.

A Study Skills Course Designed around your child's Brain
Grade 4 - 8
What makes this course truly different?
Before we even begin, each child completes an individual Brain Dominance Profile. This allows your child to understand how their brain naturally learns best — and then build their understanding around that.
There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to learning.
Through a neuroscience-informed approach, your child will develop:
An understanding of how learning actually happens
Strong internal drive (not just pressure from the outside)
Personalised study methods aligned to their brain profile
Effective memory techniques
Clear goal-setting skills to build motivation
Practical strategies to improve reading and understanding
Tools to manage exam and test anxiety
Many teenagers struggle not because they lack ability, but because they’ve never been shown how to learn in a way that suits them.
This course meets them exactly where they are — whether they feel:
Overwhelmed (“There’s just too much!”)
Pressured (“My marks count now…”)
Disengaged (“I’m not worried…”)
I help them move from confusion and stress… to clarity,
confidence, and control.
Cost: R3200 per child
💡 Payment option available: 2 instalments (May–June)
Special Rate:
If your child has completed a Brain Dominance Profile with Train the Brain Therapy within the last 12 months, the cost is R2900 per child (report required).
Date: Every Wednesday in May -- 6, 13, 20 & 27th
Time: 17h30 – 19h30
Where: 90 Danville Ave, Glenashley
WhatsApp 0741012616 for booking details.
