Hockey π
Our hockey season has got off to a fantastic start!
Earlier last week, our U13 boys' and girls' teams played warm-up matches against Ashton, giving them a great opportunity to prepare for the season ahead.
On Friday and Saturday, our U13A boys participated in the Westville Boys' High School U13 Hockey Festival, where they enjoyed valuable game time, gained experience, and represented Chelsea with pride.
On Tuesday, our U12 boys, U13 boys, and U13 girls took on touring side SACS in a series of exciting fixtures. Thank you to SACS for including Chelsea in your tour programme. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you and wish you all the best for the remainder of your tour.
This weekend, our U13A girls will be competing in the St John's D.S.G. Hockey Festival. We wish them the very best and know they will make the most of this wonderful opportunity.
We are looking forward to an exciting term filled with hockey festivals, tournaments, and fixtures as our players continue to develop their skills and passion for the game.

Netball π
Our U12A netball team took part in the final festival of the season, hosted by Durban Girls' College. Well done, girls, on a fantastic display of skill and teamwork.
As the season came to a close, our MIC of Netball, coach, and educator, Mrs Fakroodeen, reflected on an unforgettable year for Chelsea Netball:
"Thatβs a wrap on the 2026 netball season, and what an unforgettable year it has been for Chelsea Netball! ππ
From our foundational ball-skills sessions right up to our U13 age group, every single player has shown immense growth. While we've seen incredible character and team spirit develop, our biggest success has undoubtedly been the massive leap in skill and match awareness across the entire programme.
Through every victory and loss, all vital parts of the learning journey, our girls rose to the occasion with unwavering sportsmanship, even in the toughest matches.
β¨ Season Highlights:
Our Grade 2s stepping onto the court for their very first festival matches!
Our lower-tier teams holding their own and flying the Chelsea flag high against top-ranking schools at age-group festivals.
Our Senior Teams securing the KZN School Championship title! They are off to Middelburg to make Chelsea history, and we couldn't be prouder. π
None of this would be possible without our phenomenal team of teachers and coaches, whose dedication and effort never go unnoticed.
To our parents: thank you for the endless lifts, drop-offs, and constant encouragement from the sidelines.
And finally, to our dedicated players: thank you for showing up and playing such a captivating, beautiful game, no matter which team you were representing. We are one team, playing from the heart, with pride and resilience.
With love as always,
Mrs F β€οΈπ€π"

Youth Day commemorates the students of the 1976 Soweto Uprising, whose protest against unequal education became a defining moment in the struggle against apartheid. It also celebrates the potential of today's youth to influence the future. The day serves as a reminder of the power of young people to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.
