We are a watchdog site that caters for the youth. We bring voices to the voiceless, hap to the hapless and empower the powerless by creating awareness, spreading joy and encouraging youngsters. This is done through stories from within Northern Natal.
So why ‘ Revolution’? We are young, vibrant, intellectual youths with aspirations, goals and dreams. Our forum aims to generate great and far-reaching changes and revolutionise the stereotypical view that people have of youth.
Wall of Fame
We have seen our newspaper giving our older generation a chance to be featured in the newspaper as the ‘Star of the Week’, and we thought why not do the same with the youth? In this category we want to identify those young people who are going an extra mile in whatever they do to achieve the best. This category brings recognition for what they do and it also inspires other young people to work hard to get what they believe they cannot do.
Paparazzi
Your weekend files, parties, market days, and tour photographs will be uploaded in this category. Find a snap of you and your friends when you are out and about for the rest of the town to see. Kindly forward us any of the photos you take with your friends in any function to be featured on this site. Note: no offensive pictures will be accepted. Photos can be e-mailed via the Courier e-mail or forwarded to the Courier offices.
Career of the week
Here careers will be reviewed weekly. Our reviews will encourage the youth to take a look at the multitude of careers available as well as assist in making good decisions regarding their futures.
Columns
This is the most interesting part of the site where we, the young journalists, share with you our views and stories that affect us daily. In our own opinions and the way we view the world around us we will give you fun but intellectual columns that you can relate too. The aim is not to offend anyone, it is merely to inform. We hope you will enjoy our writing and find it edifying.
Optical Zoom (reviews)
We zoom into the world of entertainment where we review books, movies and music. Giving you what’s hot and what’s not in your latest releases. We also look at the best releases in the year as well as the worst.
Speak-out/Khuluma/Praat
Here we encourage the youth to voice your grievances, tell us what affects you, how it affects you and possible solutions. We encourage all comments placed under this category to be written with due care - no offensive or derogative comments or complaints. Any inappropriate messages will be deleted. We will investigate these complaints and provide necessary feedback.
Ask Aunty
This will be coupled with ‘Speak Out’: Here the youth will receive advice on issues that affect them personally, not necessarily others. For example, while drug abuse effects million, being a drug abuser is a personal problem.
Lets do this!
