📖🏆 Library Week Dictionary Competition! 🏆📖

During Week 6, 34 enthusiastic learners from across the Foundation, Intermediate and Senior Phases took part in our exciting Dictionary Competition!

Learners put their dictionary skills to the test through fun challenges including Alphabet Masters, Speed Search, Word Detectives and the final Dictionary Champions challenge. 🔤⚡🕵️

A huge congratulations to our Top 5 Dictionary Champions for their impressive speed, accuracy and vocabulary skills! 🌟

🎶 MUSIC DEPARTMENT NEWS 🎶

A fantastic celebration of musical achievement! Our learners excelled at the Western Cape Virtual Eisteddfod, earning 41 individual awards, including 7 Bronze, 17 Silver, 14 Gold and 3 Cum Laude awards. 🏆

Our Junior Orchestra, Recorder Ensemble and String Ensemble all achieved Gold, while our Junior and Senior Choirs received Cum Laude awards. 🎵

The String Ensemble also earned a Diploma Certificate at the JanArte Eisteddfod for achieving 90%+.

Well done to all our talented musicians! We are incredibly proud of you! 👏🎶✨

🏆 DERBY DAY 2026 | HORIZON MATHS COMPETITION 🧠

More than 160 of our mathematicians took on the final round of the Horizon Maths Competition after an action-packed morning on the field! They had already beaten 12 000+ learners to reach the final round, placing them in the top 25% of participants.

We are especially proud of our Grade 5s, who tackled mathematics at Grade 7 level! 👏

Even more impressively, 8 learners placed in the Top 500, putting them in the top 3% of more than 16 500 participants! 🏆

Congratulations to Yahya Naidoo, Libby Shargey, Tyler Topkin, Yusha Hurrell, Jude Burgess, Aadam Francis, Zakariyya Gabier and Adam Fransman on this incredible achievement!

We are so proud of all our mathematicians! 🎉🧠🏆
