🏆KAYA MOTSEPE REGIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏆

What an incredible achievement for Urban Academy Private School!

The Kaya Motsepe Championship is a prestigious national competition, open to schools from across South Africa. Our boys started their journey in the Zonal Qualifications, where they played 5 matches and won all 5!

This fantastic run saw us qualify for the Nelson Mandela Bay Regional Playoffs, held on 22 August 2026, where we faced the other Zonal winners from across the district.

And what a performance it was!

With an outstanding unbeaten record, Urban Academy Private School were crowned Regional Kaya Motsepe Champions! 🥇

Our journey now continues to the Provincial Leg in East London on 18–19 September 2026. We will be giving it everything as we aim to go even further!

Should we be successful at Provincial level, we will advance to the Kaya Motsepe National Leg — with the date and venue still to be announced.

A massive congratulations to our players, coaches and everyone who has supported the team throughout this incredible journey!

🏐Netball camp photos🏐

We would once again like to thank Synergy Adventures for the amazing time. What an amazing time our netball girls had at camp!💙 They had so much fun, especially during the games and team-building activities that challenged them to work together, communicate effectively, trust one another and support their teammates. It was wonderful to see them encouraging each other, building friendships and growing not only as players, but also as a team. A camp filled with laughter, learning, teamwork and unforgettable memories! 🌟🏐

Our Grade 11 learners are getting hands-on as they construct their very own breathing models as part of their Term 3 SBA assessment!

Using recycled materials, they are putting their creativity and scientific knowledge to work while learning how the respiratory system functions. ♻️

🚀 GRADE 3 RECYCLED ROCKET PROJECT 🚀

Our Grade 3 learners made a 3D Rocket using recycled materials as part of our Creative Arts/Space project. All while learning about our our Solar system, Planet's, sun and moon 🌚🌝

Business Function Simulation – The Boat-Making Game! 💼

Our learners are currently taking part in an exciting Boat-Making Game, where they get to experience how a small business operates.

Yesterday, they completed Part 1, working in teams and taking on different business roles while developing their teamwork, communication, creativity and decision-making skills.

We can’t wait to see how the rest of the simulation unfolds!

This Saturday, 22 August, we’re hosting our End-of-Season Netball Tournament! We have schools joining us from near and far, ready for a day filled with exciting matches, great sportsmanship and plenty of netball action.

We are incredibly proud of our learner, Mbalentle Parkie, who attended the Miss Global Princess South Africa crowning in Johannesburg over the weekend of 7–9 August.

Mbalentle was selected by five international designers for the incredible opportunity to walk at South African Kids Fashion Week 2026!
