Daveyton Intermediate School was established on 23rd April 1979. Schools in Daveyton at that time, were classified into various ethnic groups. There were Zulu school, South Sotho schools, North Sotho schools, Tsonga schools and Xhosa schools. The Zulu schools did not have enough classrooms to accommodate all the Zulu children. As a result of this classroom shortage, Daveyton Intermediate School w

as established. There was no building where Daveyton Intermediate School learners were going to be accommodated. The existing Zulu schools had to devise means of sharing their classrooms with the new school. How that was going to be possible, the existing shools had to decide.
