Qamar Institute

Qamar Institute Nurturing the hearts of Women through the Meanings of the Qur’ān 🤍 Now, 6 years later, we've had more than 500 pass through our doors alhamdulillah.

Borne out of a concern for a single mother who longed to understand the Quran in Arabic but was not able to study it fulltime, Qamar Institute, a part time arabic and islamic institution, began with just 55 students. Established in 2010 under the name Darun Naim Lil Ummahat, the objective of this course was simple : equip women/mothers with the basics of the arabic language, so that they may be ab

le to understand the Qur’ān in Arabic. We also offer classes on aqeedah, fiqh, seerah etc. for those sisters who have completed the entire Qur’ān and are looking to further their Islamic studies on a part time basis. Deen is for everyone, and by making it accessible on a part time basis, our course allows women the opportunity to learn about our beautiful deen, whilst comfortably fulfilling their obligations as mothers and wives, Alhamdulillah.

When Dunya Becomes the Destination 🤍

There is nothing wrong with wanting the blessings of this world. The question is whether we are holding the dunya in our hands or allowing it to settle at the centre of our hearts.

When the Qur’an becomes our guide, it helps us recognise the difference between living in the dunya and living for it.

What is truly at the centre of our hearts? Let’s turn to the Qur’an for inner purification and guidance.

💛 The Power of Softness

As we celebrate Rabiʿ al-Awwal, we reflect on the beautiful character and mercy of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us:

“Kindness is not found in anything except that it beautifies it, and it is not removed from anything except that it makes it defective.”

There is strength in choosing gentleness when the world gives us reasons to be harsh.

A good word when anger feels easier.
Patience when frustration takes over.
Forgiveness when resentment feels justified.
Mercy when we have every reason to withdraw it.

Gentleness is not weakness.

It is the strength to respond with the character we hope to see in others — even when circumstances make it difficult.

May Allah Soften our hearts, beautify our character and make kindness a constant part of how we speak, lead, parent and live. Āmīn.

🌟 Our Beautiful Qur’an Journey Continued...

This week, Sūrah An-Najm and Sūrah Al-Balad reminded us that the Qur’an is not simply something we study — it is meant to transform how we see, speak, choose and live.

🌆 Sūrah Al-Balad reminds us of the gifts Allah has given us:

“Have We not given him two eyes?” (90:8)

“And a tongue and two lips.” (90:9)

“And We have shown him the two ways.” (90:10)

We have been given the ability to see, speak and choose. The question is: how are we using these blessings?

🌠 And Sūrah An-Najm reminds us:

“And that there is not for man except that for which he strives.” (53:39)

Our responsibility is to keep striving towards Allah — even when the journey is difficult. We may not control the outcome, but Allah sees every effort and promises the fullest reward.

Ultimately:

“And that to your Lord is the final outcome.” (53:42)

May Allah Give us eyes that truly see His Signs, tongues that remember Him, hearts that remain humble, and the strength to keep striving towards Him SWT. 🤲🏼

Āmīn.

💖 Small Moments, Lasting Memories

As we celebrate Rabiʿ al-Awwal, we reflect on the beautiful mercy of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Abū Qatādah رضي الله عنه narrated:

“When he ﷺ prostrated, he put her down, and when he stood, he carried her.”

The Messenger ﷺ made space for children, their needs and their affection — even during ṣalāh.

Because to a child, a small moment of tenderness can mean everything.

A gentle embrace.
A patient response.
Being carried.
Being welcomed.

These moments become memories, and those memories help shape the heart.

May Allah Make us parents and educators who nurture hearts with the mercy and tenderness of His beloved Messenger ﷺ. Āmīn.

Parenting Sunnah Tarbiya

When We Wake Up to Truth, Not Assumptions 🤍

So much of what shapes our choices comes from the stories we carry about how life should be. But the Qur’an invites us to move beyond assumption, expectation and inherited beliefs—to become conscious of what is actually true.

When we learn to question our own conditioning, we create space for greater clarity, wiser decisions and more intentional parenting. We cannot guide our children toward truth while remaining asleep to the assumptions guiding our own lives.

What are you accepting as “reality” simply because you were taught that it should be so?

Perhaps the first step is to pause, to question, to seek knowledge, and to allow the Qur’an to challenge the way we see ourselves, our children and the world around us.

🌟 Our Beautiful Qur’an Journey Continued...

This week, our journey through Surah An-Najm and Surah Al-Balad reminds us that the Qur’an is not simply something we recite or study — it is meant to reach our hearts, reshape our perspective and transform the way we live.

🌠 Surah An-Najm teaches us to examine what truly sits at the centre of our hearts. Are we living for the dunya, or is our ultimate goal Allah’s Pleasure and the Ākhirah? When our destination is clear, our priorities become clearer too. Not every difficulty is the greatest problem — what matters most is protecting our īmān, our ṣalāh and our relationship with Allah.

🌅 Surah Al-Balad reminds us that hardship is part of the human experience. We were created in kabad — struggle, difficulty and exertion. But difficulty does not mean Allah has abandoned us. Sometimes, within the hardship itself, Allah is teaching us, purifying us, redirecting us and drawing us closer to Him.

So when life becomes difficult, perhaps we need to zoom out.

We may only see one thread, but Allah sees the entire rug.

We may only see the envelope, but Allah knows the message inside.

The question is not simply:

“Why is this happening to me?”

But:

“Ya Allah, what are You teaching me through this?”

And when our hearts feel broken, we turn to Al-Jabbār — The One who mends, restores and repairs what is broken.

May Allah Make the Qur’an a source of light, guidance and transformation for us; strengthen our īmān through every test; keep the Ākhirah as our ultimate goal; and mend our hearts by drawing them closer to Him. 🤲🏼

Ameen

💖 What We Nurture in the Heart Shapes Who We Become

As we celebrate Rabiʿ al-Awwal, we reflect on the beautiful character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us:

“The best among you are those who have the best character.”

Beautiful character begins within.

What we nurture in the heart — sincerity, mercy, patience, humility and love — eventually finds its way into our words, our actions and the way we treat others.

The character of the Messenger ﷺ was not simply something he displayed. It was an outward reflection of what was deeply rooted within him ﷺ.

Rabiʿ al-Awwal invites us to look beyond simply remembering the Messenger ﷺ and to ask ourselves:

What are we nurturing in our own hearts?

Because what we consistently cultivate within will eventually shape who we become.

May Allah Purify our hearts, beautify our character and allow us to follow the example of His beloved Messenger ﷺ in both our inner state and our outward conduct. Āmīn.

Character Is Shown in How We Treat Others

As we celebrate Rabiʿ al-Awwal, we reflect on the beautiful character of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Anas ibn Mālik رضي الله عنه described him ﷺ:

“He had the best disposition amongst people.”

His ﷺ character was visible in the way he treated those around him.

As Anas رضي الله عنه also said:

“He passed by some boys and greeted them.”

Even children were worthy of his ﷺ attention, respect and kindness.

A simple greeting became an expression of beautiful character.

Our character is revealed in the way we consistently conduct ourselves with others — especially those we have nothing to gain from.

May Allah Keep us upon the example of the Messenger ﷺ and make kindness, respect and gentleness part of who we are. Āmīn.
