U8 Hawks

A great Saturday for our U8 Hawks at The Grove Soccer Festival!

Five matches, three wins, and two draws — plenty of teamwork, energy, and some brilliant football along the way.

A big thank you to our ISCT parents for the fantastic support from the sidelines, and to The Grove for hosting a great festival.

Proud of our Hawks!

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our Year 4 students enjoyed an exciting outing to the Two Oceans Aquarium, bringing their learning to life through first-hand experiences.

From discovering marine life to asking questions and exploring the world around them, the outing was a great example of Cambridge learning in action, curious, practical and connected to the real world.

This is one of the many benefits of an independent school education at ISCT: giving students the opportunity to learn beyond the classroom and turn knowledge into experience.

Book Week at ISCT

Last week, our students across ISCT Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 discovered new stories, met characters, explored ideas, and learned that books can take us on all kinds of adventures.

For our youngest learners, Book Week was all about developing a love of stories — sharing books, discovering new characters, using their imaginations and beginning to understand how stories help us explore the world around us. Our KS1 students continued this journey, building their confidence as readers while exploring stories, ideas and adventures through books.

We loved welcoming illustrator Anja Stoeckigt, who introduced KS2 to her almost-wordless book The Amazing Deep Sea Adventure, showing just how powerful images can be. The students even had a go at creating their own characters!

We were also joined by Jaconette van Dyk from Penguin Random House, who took us behind the scenes to discover how a book travels from an idea to the shelves.

From Early Years through to KS2, Book Week was a wonderful opportunity to develop curiosity, creativity, imagination and independent thinking — all important parts of a Cambridge education.

A week of stories, discovery and adventure — because every book opens the door to a new world.

Book Week Has Arrived at ISCT!

This week, ISCT has been transformed into a world of adventure, fantasy, and fairy tales!

From books and quizzes to classrooms turned into adventures, our students are discovering that reading is so much more than words on a page, it opens doors to new worlds, new ideas and endless possibilities.

This is Cambridge learning in action, developing confident readers, curious minds, creativity, imagination, and the ability to explore, question, and think independently.

From fairytale kingdoms to fantastical adventures, there’s a story waiting around every corner at ISCT this week!

Growing More Than Just Vegetables at ISCT

Our new Hydroponics Station is up and growing!

A few weeks ago, our students planted lettuce, cabbage, and Chinese cabbage, and we’re looking forward to harvesting and selling the produce. The profits will go towards supporting our Ithemba Primary Project.

It’s also creating valuable opportunities for our President’s Award students, who can log their weekly involvement as community service hours while learning practical skills in maintaining the system, caring for the plants, harvesting, and selling the produce.

A great example of learning by doing while giving back to our community.
