Today was one of those perfect, core-memory days. At Acacia Tree Nursery School's play in Cintsa West, our little stars ruled the whole stage as both Kings and Queens! Watching them command the room with such confidence (and adorable royal waves) filled our hearts to the brim. What an incredible school to nurture such creativity and joy. šŸ‘‘ Our little rulers are exhausted but so, so happy.

Please support our Nurseryschool The school urgently needs funds to keep its door open to help underprivileged children receive quality nursery school education. Any small amount will help. How to donate is easy.

Please help to give our children a future and bring positive change. Read the story down below with links to donate in the UK to Hermes Trust

Tribute to Veliswa Xanti (March 26, 1976 - August 13, 2024)

It is with heavy hearts that we remember and honour the life of Veliswa Xanti, a beloved member of the Chintsa East community, who passed away on August 13, 2024. Born on March 26, 1976, Veliswa devoted much of her life to nurturing and educating young minds at Acacia Tree Nursery School.

Veliswa's journey with Acacia Tree began in 2008 as an assistant teacher. It didn't take long for her natural warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to shine through. She quickly became an integral part of the nursery school, where her love for the children was evident in everything she did. In 2015, Veliswa stepped into the role of lead teacher, a position she held with unwavering dedication until her early retirement in 2022 due to ill health.

As a teacher, Veliswa was more than just an educator; she was a guiding light for the children in her care. Her passion for teaching was contagious, and she had a unique ability to create a vibrant, joyful atmosphere in the classroom. She approached each day with enthusiasm, always ready to engage with her students and foster their creativity. Her patience was boundless, especially when helping children with their craft projects. Veliswa made sure that every child, regardless of their abilities, felt proud of what they had created and had something special to take home.

One of Veliswa's greatest joys was organizing the yearly festival celebrations at the nursery school. She poured her heart into these events, ensuring that they were filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable memories for the children and their families. For Veliswa, teaching was not just a job; it was a calling. She believed deeply in the importance of creating a safe, loving environment—a home away from home—where every child could feel valued and loved.

Even after her retirement, Veliswa's influence continued to be felt. Her dedication, warmth, and love for the children of Chintsa East have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her absence leaves a void that will be felt by many, but her legacy of kindness, dedication, and passion for teaching will continue to inspire.

Veliswa Xanti will be sorely missed by her family, the Acacia Tree Nursery School, and the entire Chintsa East community. We are all better for having known her, and we will carry her memory in our hearts as we continue the work she so passionately believed in.

I want to share some information about Acacia Tree Nursery school at Chintsa West Eastern Cape, South Africa. It has been started by dr Hough’s daughter dr Madeleine Muller, her hubby Tom and Toms’s mom Barbara Muller about 17 years ago and is situated on their farm in the Eastern Cape The nursery school is a charity. The school urgently needs funds to keep its door open to help underprivileged children receive quality nursery school education.

Some Background:

Acacia Tree nursery school is a non-profit organization and approved under SARS Section 18a for tax-deductible donations. It is a small nursery school in rural Chintsa West, South Africa, and provides pre-school education for local children aged 3 1⁄2 to 6 years old.

Acacia Tree School provides a magical, safe and beautiful environment in which children can be nurtured and can thrive. The school is taught by a wonderful local Xhosa teacher. Thandeka, who are mentored by the very experienced and highly regarded Mrs. Barbara Muller.

Financial needs

Chintsa is a growing community with increasing numbers of children under the age of 6. The local public nursery school is struggling with an overwhelming number of enrolments. Acacia Tree Nursery school serves as an essential additional nursery school in the area.

Most of the children here live under the poverty line and parents are only able to make a small financial contribution to the school every month. The school, therefore, needs additional funding to cover its expenses. The normal fundraising efforts were curtailed by the pandemic and the school was on the verge of closing down. A very generous donor from the UK saved the school in the nick of time last year to keep its doors open but we need help again.

Any small amount will help. How to donate is easy.

Please help to give our children a future and bring positive change.
