📚✨ BOOK CHARACTER DRESS-UP DAY! ✨📚

Last Friday our Learners stepped straight out of the pages of their favourite books and into our School, bringing their beloved characters to life! 🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️👸🐻🕵️‍♂️

The creativity, excitement and enthusiasm were absolutely AMAZING! 🌟 What a wonderful way to celebrate the JOY OF READING and remind our children that every book opens the door to a whole new world! 🌍📚❤️

Idioms Came Alive at Kingsword Academy! 📚✨

What an absolutely brilliant Idioms Day we had at Kingsword Academy last Friday! 🎉👏

Our Grade 1–7 learners had the wonderful opportunity to explore the fascinating world of Idioms in a fun, creative and memorable way. What made the day so special was seeing children who had never even learnt what an Idiom was discovering different Idioms, learning their meanings and understanding how they are used in everyday language.

These are lessons that go far beyond School. The idioms they learnt are knowledge they can carry with them throughout their schooling, right up to their Matric examinations and even into the rest of their lives! 📖💡

And of course, our amazing Educators got right into the spirit of the day too!

This is exactly what meaningful education should look like — learning that is fun, memorable, creative and leaves a lasting impact. ❤️

Our Grade RR's had tons of fun exploring TRANSPORT. They learnt all about cars, buses, trains, aeroplanes and ships.

Learners also created a Train using different Shapes. This supported shape recognition, counting and hand-eye co-ordination in a fun, hands-on way.🙌

This week our Pre-Primary Learners explored various Careers, learning about their roles, uniforms and their impact on the community.

We were also blessed to have special visitors who played a significant role in bringing these careers to life!

A Special Thank You to our
Flight Attendant 🧑‍✈️, Author📚 and Radiographer🏥

Their demonstrations and stories provided hands-on learning for our little ones, making the knowledge more tangible and exciting.

Our Grade RRR babies have been learning soooo much this week, despite the 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️

Their theme was Vegetables and Shopping🧅🌽🥦🥒🥔🍅🌶️ 💵💵💵
Learners explored different types of vegetables and discussed how they help keep our bodies healthy and strong. They enjoyed touching and tasting a variety of veggies and also explored our School garden.

We also introduced the concept of shopping and using money. Through role-play, Learners learned that we cannot simply take what we like from a shop — we need to pay for it 😅
