Lyn Maharaj from class of 1991 returned to her Alma Mater yesterday to deliver motivational talks to our grade 12 learners and female educators on staff.
As a work-life strategist, speaker, former educator and businesswoman, she inspired our grade 12s to believe in themselves and to work hard to realise their goals and dreams.
Later, she had a relaxed session with female educators during which she imparted practical skills on how to achieve and maintain long-term well-being and wellness through sustainable lifestyle changes.
We thank her for remembering her Alma Mater and for wanting to give back to the school. 🙏🏽

What an incredible weekend at BergVenture! 🏔️✨

Our learners and teachers had an unforgettable experience filled with adventure, laughter, teamwork, and memories that will last a lifetime. From the breathtaking scenery of the Drakensberg to the exciting activities, every moment was special.

A heartfelt thank you to Lynette and the entire BergVenture team for your outstanding hospitality and for making us feel so welcome. Your warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made our stay truly exceptional.

A special mention to Bonga, Godfrey, and Max, who were just as amazing as last year. Their energy, patience, encouragement, and ability to connect with both learners and teachers made the experience even more enjoyable. They truly went above and beyond.

Seeing our learners challenge themselves, build confidence, form stronger friendships, and enjoy the beauty of nature reminded us why experiences like these are so important. We are grateful for every memory made and are already looking forward to making this an annual tradition.

We're back from an eventful weekend at BergVenture 🌱. Our learners thoroughly enjoyed themselves this weekend. We are extremely grateful to Lynette, Bonga , Max and Godfrey for taking care of our learners and teachers.

Former senior educator at Brindhavan Secondary School and now retired former Senior Deputy Principal of Parktown Boys High, Mr Rajen 'RV' Pillay, competed in the SA Scrabble Masters in Pinelands, Cape Town, featuring the top 10 active, rated players. He finished a creditable 3rd on the number of wins, and 5th on spread. Won the award for the Highest Game Score (595) against one of the country's best Scrabble players.

Besides attaining an overall pass of 91.3 % in the 2025 NSC exams, the school also achieved 100% pass rate in 8 subjects! Well done to all of the above hardworking and dedicated educators! Congratulations to other educators too who may not have attained 100% pass in the subjects but nevertheless exceeded their personal targets. Dhevan Pillay from the class of 83 is making massive strides in the corporate sector. His company, LTM Energy Group has been awarded the Sustainable Energy Visionary Company Award by World Sustainability for their groundbreaking Conduit Hydropower Project.

Brindhavan Secondary Empowers Youth Leaders

At recent Representative Council of Learners elections hosted by Phumelela CMC, Brindhavan's Mosa Hlapane and Nondumiso Shange were elected President and Deputy President respectively of the Karanja Circuit RCL structure. They represent learners from 38 schools in the Circuit. Congratulations to both of them from all at Brindhavan.
