This Mandela Day, our incredible school community truly embodied the spirit of Ubuntu! Together, we organised a food drive to support People4Purpose and the response was absolutely overwhelming. 📦❤️

On May 20th, Maria Montessori House officially turned 35 years old! 🎂✨
Three and a half decades of learning, growing, and watching incredible children find their independent sparks. But a school isn’t just made of classrooms—it’s built by the incredible people who pour their hearts into it every single day.
To mark this massive milestone, we had the absolute privilege of honouring a true legend of our community: Gogo Nori! ❤️
Gogo Nori has been with us since the very first day we opened our doors all the way back in 1991. For 35 years, she has been the backbone, the warmth, and the steady heartbeat of our school. Generational lines of students have been greeted by her kindness, and our space simply wouldn’t be the same without her dedication.
Thank you, Gogo Nori, for walking this journey with us from day one. And thank you to our amazing community—past and present—for being part of our story. Here’s to the next 35 years! 🥂🎉

Shhh... can you keep a secret? 🤫📚

For Book Week, we had a very special mission in the preschool classroom! We were joined by two wonderful dads who stepped in as our Secret Readers.

The room was buzzing with anticipation as the kids tried to guess who would walk through the door next. The look of pure joy and “Wait, that’s MY dad!” was absolutely the highlight of our week!

Big steps for small feet! 👣🔢
Our Grade 1s are officially hitting their stride with Number Lines! Today, we transformed the classroom into a giant scale to visualize how numbers grow.
Learning to count isn’t just about reciting numbers—it’s about understanding the “jump” from one value to the next. By using number lines, our learners are building a solid foundation for:
• ✅ Addition & Subtraction (Hop forward, hop back!)
• ✅ Number Sequencing (What comes before and after?)
• ✅ Spatial Awareness (Visualising the distance between values)
Watching those “aha!” moments when they realize that 5 + 2 is just two small hops away is the best part of our day. 🌟
