This week, our Grade 12 learners had the enriching opportunity of attending a live performance of Shakespeareโs Othello at the University of Johannesburg.
The experience provided learners with valuable insight into the themes, characters, language, and dramatic techniques studied in their English curriculum, while also exposing them to the atmosphere and culture of a university environment. ๐โจ
Experiencing literature through live theatre allows learners to engage more deeply with the text, develop critical thinking skills, and appreciate the power of performance and storytelling.
We trust that this educational excursion inspired our learners and further strengthened their understanding and appreciation of one of Shakespeareโs most renowned plays. ๐ญ๐

By choosing indigenous plants, our learners contributed towards supporting local ecosystems, conserving water, and encouraging biodiversity. ๐ผ๐

๐ฟ Protect Our Children from Va**ng ๐ซ
Va**ng is no longer a trend โ itโs a serious danger affecting learners as young as Grade 4.
โ ๏ธ What we are seeing: โข Poor focus & concentration
โข Mood swings & fatigue
โข Anxiety & weaker immunity
โข Decline in school performance
โ ๏ธ The reality: Ni****ne is highly addictive, and va**ng can lead to long-term damage โ including lung disease, cancer, and mental health challenges.
๐จ It is becoming normalised โ and that is the real danger.
โ
Parents, we must act:
โข Stay informed
โข Know your childโs friends
โข Communicate openly
โข Set firm boundaries
โข Report illegal sellers
โข Seek help if needed
๐ฑ Our children are an Amaanah.
Letโs protect them with awareness, guidance, and firm action.

Al Ghazali School Extends Condolences to the People of Iran
The management, staff, learners, and broader community of Al Ghazali School extend our deepest condolences to the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran during this time of grief and sorrow. We are profoundly saddened by reports of the loss of young lives, particularly schoolgirls, whose futures were cut short by violence.
The targeting of children, especially those in places of learning, represents a grave violation of humanity, dignity, and the fundamental principles of justice. As an institution dedicated to education, compassion, and the nurturing of young minds, we stand in solidarity with the families who have lost their daughters and with all those affected by this tragedy.
Schools must always remain sanctuaries of hope, growth, and safety, never places of fear or destruction.
We are reminded of the words of Imam Al-Ghazali: โKnowledge without action is wastefulness, and action without knowledge is foolishness.โ
In this spirit, we call on the global community not only to acknowledge this injustice but also to act decisively in protecting innocent lives and upholding truth and accountability.
We call on the international community to uphold the sanctity of innocent life, to ensure accountability where violations occur, and to work tirelessly toward a world where no child suffers the horrors of violence.
In this moment of mourning, we reaffirm our shared humanity and our collective responsibility to protect the most vulnerable among us.
May the departed souls be granted eternal peace, and may their families be granted strength and patience.
