This week, our Grade 12 learners had the enriching opportunity of attending a live performance of Shakespeareโ€™s Othello at the University of Johannesburg.

The experience provided learners with valuable insight into the themes, characters, language, and dramatic techniques studied in their English curriculum, while also exposing them to the atmosphere and culture of a university environment. ๐ŸŽ“โœจ

Experiencing literature through live theatre allows learners to engage more deeply with the text, develop critical thinking skills, and appreciate the power of performance and storytelling.

We trust that this educational excursion inspired our learners and further strengthened their understanding and appreciation of one of Shakespeareโ€™s most renowned plays. ๐ŸŽญ๐Ÿ“–

๐ŸŒฑ GRADE 11 EARTH DAY INITIATIVE ๐ŸŒ

Our Grade 11 learners took meaningful action this Earth Day 2026 by planting indigenous plants around the school. ๐ŸŒฟ

This successful initiative was more than just planting โ€” it was about giving back to the environment, promoting sustainability, and creating awareness about the importance of protecting our natural world.

By choosing indigenous plants, our learners contributed towards supporting local ecosystems, conserving water, and encouraging biodiversity. ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ

We are incredibly proud of our learners for showing responsibility, initiative, and care for the environment.

Small actions today, greener tomorrow. ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒฟ Protect Our Children from Va**ng ๐Ÿšซ
Va**ng is no longer a trend โ€” itโ€™s a serious danger affecting learners as young as Grade 4.
โš ๏ธ What we are seeing: โ€ข Poor focus & concentration
โ€ข Mood swings & fatigue
โ€ข Anxiety & weaker immunity
โ€ข Decline in school performance
โš ๏ธ The reality: Ni****ne is highly addictive, and va**ng can lead to long-term damage โ€” including lung disease, cancer, and mental health challenges.
๐Ÿšจ It is becoming normalised โ€” and that is the real danger.
โœ… Parents, we must act:
โ€ข Stay informed
โ€ข Know your childโ€™s friends
โ€ข Communicate openly
โ€ข Set firm boundaries
โ€ข Report illegal sellers
โ€ข Seek help if needed
๐ŸŒฑ Our children are an Amaanah.
Letโ€™s protect them with awareness, guidance, and firm action.

Al Ghazali School Extends Condolences to the People of Iran

The management, staff, learners, and broader community of Al Ghazali School extend our deepest condolences to the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran during this time of grief and sorrow. We are profoundly saddened by reports of the loss of young lives, particularly schoolgirls, whose futures were cut short by violence.

The targeting of children, especially those in places of learning, represents a grave violation of humanity, dignity, and the fundamental principles of justice. As an institution dedicated to education, compassion, and the nurturing of young minds, we stand in solidarity with the families who have lost their daughters and with all those affected by this tragedy.

Schools must always remain sanctuaries of hope, growth, and safety, never places of fear or destruction.

We are reminded of the words of Imam Al-Ghazali: โ€œKnowledge without action is wastefulness, and action without knowledge is foolishness.โ€

In this spirit, we call on the global community not only to acknowledge this injustice but also to act decisively in protecting innocent lives and upholding truth and accountability.

We call on the international community to uphold the sanctity of innocent life, to ensure accountability where violations occur, and to work tirelessly toward a world where no child suffers the horrors of violence.

In this moment of mourning, we reaffirm our shared humanity and our collective responsibility to protect the most vulnerable among us.

May the departed souls be granted eternal peace, and may their families be granted strength and patience.
