To all Skills College learners preparing for their DHET examinations:

Stay focused, trust your preparation and believe in your abilities. Success is achieved through determination, consistency and hard work, and you are capable of achieving great things.

We wish every learner confidence, strength and success during the examination period.

Your future is worth the effort.

A big step forward for Skills College.

We are now an approved examination centre. The College has been formally approved as a DHET examination centre, with our first national examinations scheduled for May 2026, followed by ongoing sittings aligned to national examination cycles throughout the year.

This means learners can now complete their examinations on campus, in a familiar and fully supported environment.

Less travel.
More support.
A smoother path to qualification.

A recent Moneyweb article has sparked more conversation about B-BBEE.

It highlights an important reality: Not all empowerment efforts have delivered broad-based results.

Here’s why: Opportunities only matter if you have the skills to use them. That’s where many people and businesses struggle.

Skills help you to:
• Find work
• Build a career
• Grow opportunities

Without them, access doesn’t go very far.

We’ve unpacked this in a short, easy-to-read article. https://skillscollege.co.za/skills-development-is-the-missing-link-in-south-africas-b-bbee-debate/

Start with the right skills.

South Africa is moving toward a more structured, occupation-focused training system.

The QCTO model helps ensure learners gain the skills employers actually need, improving employability and workforce readiness.

This benefits businesses, learners, and the economy.

Human Rights Day | 21 March

Human rights are not only about protection.
They are about access.
Access to education.
Access to opportunity.
Access to participating in the economy.

At Skills College, we work to make this real through skills development, learnerships, and inclusive programmes that open doors to employment.

Because opportunity should be within reach for everyone.

17/03/2026

If your organisation is planning learnerships or training programmes, early planning is more important than ever.

The QCTO framework introduces new timelines and approval requirements that must be completed before training begins.

Proper preparation helps ensure smooth implementation and successful outcomes.
