The objectives of the Academy are:

PCITA is a well oiled, non-profit, engine steered by Lynette Cokayne as Executive Director. We are a dedicated team and situated in Highveld TechoPark, Centurion, Gauteng.
The Pest Control Industries Training Academy has been established in 1997 as a result of the lack of proper skilled training in the Pest Control Industry.
Without the excellence of our staff, PCITA could never have achieved the success that it has. Our personnel are constantly keeping up to date with the latest developments within the field, ensuring that we are always ready to assist. We firmly believe that we possess the knowledge and eagerness to meet the expectations of our clients.
PCITA believes in a very high level of customer care and strive to maintain high standards of operation. We are accredited with AgriSETA and registered with the National Department of Higher Education and Training as a Private Further Education and Training Service Provider.
PCITA offers Unit standard based Skills courses on entry level and a NQF level 4 National Qualification in Pest Control registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
OUR OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the Board are:
1. To set and maintain high standards in the Pest Control Service Industry and to promote professionalism in the Industry.
2. To review the regulatory mechanisms of the Pest Control Service Industry, make recommendations for the improvement of these mechanisms, and pursue the implementation of these recommendations.
3. To set and maintain standard industry codes of practice.
4. To advance the science and practice of pest control.
5. To set (advise government) the statutory requirements of Pest Control Service providers and their staff.
6. To secure the representation for the Board on their bodies, the functions and objectives of which either partially of fully fall within the scope of these objects.
7. To establish competency standards required of individuals to carry out the various work in the industry.
8. To monitor, inspect and regulate the activities of Pest Control Service Providers, Pest Control Operators and their assistants to ensure they meet the standards required by the Board.
9. To maintain a register of all Pest Control Service Providers together with such further information as the Board may deem necessary from time to time.
10. To receive contributions, fees, donations and legacies for the purpose of furthering the objectives herein and to spend such funds in accordance with these objectives.
11. To upgrade and establish the Pest Control Service Industry as a registered trade.
12. To set policy and administer all aspects of the Pest Control Service Industry not covered by the Act.
13. To do whatever may be necessary to achieve the objects set out above.
14. To work and liaise in close co-operation with SAPCA, and The Registrar Act 36 of 1947 and any other organization, institution or body to further the interests of the Board.
