When we put ourselves in their shoes, the difficulty and denial often become easier to understand. As educators, it is important to remind parents that we are on the same team. We all want what is best for the child.

Communication matters—not only what we say, but how we say it. Be clear in your recommendations and concerns, while reassuring parents that you are not giving up on their child. This is a journey we are tackling together.

Praise also goes a long way. Don’t focus only on what isn’t working; celebrate what is. “Your child has improved so much in this area.” “We’re seeing progress here.” Then discuss the areas that still need support.

Building a child’s confidence starts with building the confidence of the adults supporting them. Together, we can give every child the best opportunity to succeed. ❤️

Truthfully? Because we love children.

The Bible says we should believe like children to enter the Kingdom of God, and honestly, working with children reminds me of that every single day. Their honesty, joy, chaos, questions, random stories, sticky hugs, and dramatic tears over broken crayons somehow make life sweeter.

Do they test our patience? Absolutely.Do they drain our energy? Daily.Have I said “please sit down” 47 times before 8am? Possibly. 😅

But being able to teach, guide, love, and encourage little humans is such a blessing and a gift I never take lightly.

Teaching is tough — emotionally, mentally, physically — but it is also one of the most rewarding things in the world.

So yes… teachers love what we do because we truly love the children we do it for. ❤️
