In Loving Memory of Tylan Moonsamy

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Tylan Moonsamy, a valued member of the Southdowns College Class of 2023. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Tylan's family, friends, classmates and all who knew him.

We would like to invite anyone who knew Tylan to join the rest of the school as we celebrate his life with a memorial service.

The Grade 11 Life Sciences pupils dissected cow hearts recently as part of their study of transport systems in animals. Through this hands-on practical, they explored the different structures of the heart and investigated how each contributes to the efficient circulation of blood throughout the body.

An afternoon of tea, connection, and compassion. 💗

Hosted by the Deputy Head Girl, Onika Njobe, DepuTea brought together members of our school community for a meaningful cause: supporting the New Life Centre for Girls.

Every cup poured, every conversation shared, and every contribution made will help empower and uplift young girls as they build brighter futures.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make this event possible. Together, we proved that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change. 🎀🌸

This funky friday we want to shout out our amazing Grade 5 pupils, who are curently busy with the most amazing observation drawings of Reptiles using pointillism techniques.

Our Boys' Basketball teams proudly represented Southdowns College as they took on a strong opposition from Star College. The matches showcased determination, teamwork and the competitive spirit that continues to drive our basketball programme forward.

Our Girls' Basketball teams put in a spirited performance against Pretoria Girls High, demonstrating resilience, teamwork and pride. We are proud of the way our players continue to represent Southdowns College both on and off the court.

Our Sports Assembly came alive with a spectacular fusion of Jazz, art, and dance, as talented learners delivered an electrifying performance that inspired and entertained the entire school community.

Our Girls' Hockey teams proudly took to the field for the much-anticipated Derby Day clashes against Tygervalley College, displaying excellent teamwork, commitment and school pride throughout.

Derby Day brought another exciting challenge as our Boys' Hockey teams faced Tygervalley College. With skill, determination and true Southdowns spirit, our players gave their all on the field.
