🏆 A historic first for Impaq Online School.
Berveleen Nkomo, one of our own, placed 1st in the Western Cape in the Second Round of the 2026 Computer Applications Olympiad, out of over 5,000 learners nationally, before finishing as runner-up in the National Finals.
This is the first time an online school has placed in the top 3 nationally in this Olympiad, and we could not be prouder to see it happen at Impaq.

🎮 Our Impaq Online School esports team took to the floor at the African Gaming Championship, held at GrandWest in Cape Town from 16 to 19 July.
Four days of competition, big titles, and our learners right in the middle of it all.
We are so proud of how they represented Impaq. Well done, team! 🔥

Lara van Niekerk, who completed her school career through Impaq, has won gold in the Women's 50m Breaststroke at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, successfully defending the title she first won in Birmingham four years ago.
Her journey since Birmingham has not been easy. Lara has spoken openly about the illness and injury that nearly led her to step away from the sport altogether, making this win in Glasgow a genuine comeback.
Lara previously told Impaq: "Receiving a good education through Impaq and being able to manage my schooling around my swimming and training has helped me a lot." It is a reminder of what becomes possible when a learner's education can genuinely be shaped around their ambitions.
Congratulations, Lara. We are incredibly proud to have played a part in your journey. 🥇
