At Altewys, January is all about helping learners:

• Week 1 – Self-awareness (Creative Vision Maps)
• Week 2 – Perseverance (Team-based Minute to Win It Games)
• Week 3 – Making big goals achievable (MasterChef Group Challenge)

Activities and discussions are adapted for different age groups and facilitated in a safe, structured group environment.

If so, we’re excited to introduce Grow & Connect, a weekly group program designed specifically for homeschool learners from Grade R to Grade 12.

At Altewys, we understand how important social and emotional development is, especially for children who don’t attend a traditional school environment. That’s why we’ve created a structured, supervised program that encourages learners to interact, collaborate and build confidence in a warm and supportive setting.

🌱 What makes Grow & Connect special?
• Each week focuses on a different social or emotional skill through a short guided group discussion.
• Learners take part in a fun teamwork activity that changes weekly, helping them practice cooperation and problem-solving.
• Sessions end with supervised free play/socialisation time to help friendships form naturally.
• Groups are facilitated by individuals with university training in psychology and child development.
• This program is not therapy, it is a structured social development and enrichment group based on child-development principles.
• Afrikaans and English learners are welcome.
• Different age groups attend on different days so children can connect with peers at a similar developmental stage.
