Let's Build Institutions

Let's Build Institutions Let's Build Institutions is a vanguard initiative that seeks to provide adequate learning resources

Let's Build Institutions is a clarion call echoed by descendants of democracy who have, through their infiltration into the education system of South Africa, experienced first-hand the limitations and inadequacies of the exercise of learning in this country. It is also a command to those furnished with the indispensable paraphernalia of critical thinking and access to resources- those who are unsa

tisfied with the regrettable neglect of children's bodies between the time they leave home for school and come back in the afternoon, those who find value in the investment of inclusive quality education and access to world class facilities even to the poorest of the poor- to all contribute to the cause of building institutions in an aid of fostering comfortable and relevant learning in the most uncomfortable and socio-economically handicapped communities.

The Let's Build Institutions Movement is inspired by the work of Serana Williams.

"Her non-profit, the Serena Williams Fund partnered with Helping Hands in Jamaica to build the Salt Marsh Primary School. The mission of her charity is to help “individuals or communities effected by senseless violence, and [ensure] equal access to education.”

"This is the third school Serena has built. Previous secondary schools were created in partnership with Build Africa Schools in Uganda and Kenya."

Click in the link below to read more and to watch her inspirational documented moments as she opens two school, the secondary school in Jamaica and Kenya.

It is our utmost concern and fervent motivation for the disadvantaged rural area of Centane which is where we are testing the strength of our project, to have the necessary resources and educational tools which will foster quality learning and psychological growth for its community members. More so, the premises for such motivations are three-fold: firstly, no functioning library exists in Centane; secondly, the literacy rate, including the National Senior Certificate pass rate of the Eastern Cape, is regrettably low; lastly, a library will elevate the consciousness and rekindle the confidence of young disenfranchised children. It is our mission and mandate to motivate our fellow simblings and all African children not to suffer and be victims of neglect when it comes to their right to education and access to information.

The library aims to engage young people on key pressing social issues and building a sense of initiative and leadership. We are using the library and the library’s resources as developmental and educational experiences to raise an active-productive young adulthood amongst those who are at school and a culture and interest of reading from those who are old, retired, or working. The library also seeks to act as a resource center for those who do not have access to information, as a space that fosters critical thinking and as a resort that offers professional advice and material to deal with the sophisticated demands of a fast-growing capitalist system on our people. More so, we believe that academic progress within this region of Centane and its vicinity will improve. This will bring about a new future outlook particularly for the youth of this area as not only their cognitive approach to the world we live in will change, but their behaviour at home and at school will change too.

Over the last few months the library project has grown exponentially with donations still coming in thick and fast for the betterment of the education of the children of Centane. This morning we received a generous donation of seven boxes of books from Noble Queen Vuyo Royi and her colleagues at CPUT, Athlone Campus. We give thanks.

Pain will be our strength...
Silent -conscious - terror

Stop to figure, what's confused by the dialectic tongue that creates the false dichotomy between my somatic features and abilities to express my speech.

Conflicted living in a world of paradox culture seems appropriated from me- I represent a lost cause of those in limbo hoping to find home in a road with no arrows pointing the way to go. To figure me is to question in what language do i dream and subconsciously see things in the realm where me who is me walks freely without the rigidities of arbitrary purpose Dick-tated by fiscal means.

How do I abstract violence on other bodies when it seems I am terror through my wrists I slit adjacent lines that sever the flesh on paper only to reveal my viens only go pen deep.

Pensive of my thoughts only see a person with no life tree and history an absence of a being who is defiant and will surely create the negation (me.)
