Celebrating Our Stars at Mr & Miss Elite Merafong 2026

Congratulations to our talented learners who proudly represented our school at the Mr & Miss Elite Merafong 2026 Beauty Pageant, held at the Civic Centre, Carletonville on 17–18 July 2026.

Mr & Miss Elite Merafong is an annual pageant where contestants represent their communities and schools while promoting activism, empowerment, humanitarianism, and community upliftment. The pageant also provides participants with opportunities to represent Merafong on a national stage.

📢 2027 ONLINE ADMISSIONS | Grade 1 & 8 application period to be announced soon

Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile, assures parents and guardians that the application period for Grade 1 and Grade 8 will be announced soon, and encourages parents to use this time to prepare the required supporting documents.

📌 Important reminder: Grade R applications are not online. Parents and guardians must apply directly at schools.

It is that exciting time of the year again! The annual Arts Festival will commence on Wednesday, 22 July, and we look forward to seeing our talented learners showcase their creativity and skills.

Please take note of the following important information:
Learners are requested to check the dates and performance times for each event, which will be displayed outside Mrs Murphy's classroom (T3).

School transport will depart from the school at 13:15 and is expected to return at approximately 16:30 on Wednesday, 22 July, and Friday, 24 July.

Learners must ensure that they are fully prepared for their performances. Please note that no second chances or restarts will be permitted during the festival, so it is essential that learners are ready to perform when called upon.

We wish all our participants the very best and look forward to celebrating their hard work, dedication, and talent.

The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) categorically states that a poster circulating on social media containing “possible dates” for the 2027 Online Admissions for Grade 1 and Grade 8 is FAKE and misleading.

No official dates for the campaign have been announced or released by the Department.

Members of the public are urged to disregard and avoid sharing this false information.

Official updates will only be communicated through GDE verified platforms.
