๐ง Sprinkler Fun ๐ง
Water play always brings the biggest smiles.
The children were cooling off in the sprinkler, running through the water, splashing, and laughing together. Simple moments like this are some of the most joyful parts of childhood.
Sprinkler play is more than just fun. It helps children develop body awareness, coordination, and sensory regulation. For many children, especially those who seek sensory input, the feeling of water, movement, and fresh air can be both calming and exciting at the same time.
At Giggles Preschool we love creating opportunities for children to move, explore, and experience the world through play. Sometimes the best learning happens while running barefoot through the grass and water.

๐ฑIt is often the little moments between children that show the biggest learning happening. ๐ฑ
In a mixed-age environment, children naturally learn from one another. Older children often step into gentle leadership roles, showing younger friends how something works, explaining ideas, or demonstrating new skills. Younger children, in turn, watch closely, imitate, and gain confidence trying things themselves.
In moments like this, you can see collaboration unfolding naturally. One child experiments, another observes, and together they problem-solve. These shared discoveries build patience, communication, and empathy.
Mixed-age learning allows children to be both the teacher and the learner at different moments. It nurtures confidence in the older child and curiosity in the younger one, while building a strong sense of community where everyone grows together.
At Giggles Preschool, we treasure these moments where children support, guide, and inspire each other through play. โจ

โ๏ธLittle hands were hard at work creating a bright sunshine using a tear and paste activity.โ๏ธ
Tearing paper might seem simple, but it is a wonderful way for young children to strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers. These fine motor skills are essential for future tasks like writing, cutting, and buttoning clothes.
As the children carefully tore and placed each piece, they were also practising hand control, concentration, and creativity. Activities like this help build patience and confidence while allowing children to express their ideas through art.
At Giggles Preschool we love using simple activities to support big developmental skills while keeping learning fun and engaging.

๐Exploring everyday life skills through play! ๐งฅ
Little hands were busy practising an important life skill as they worked on fastening buckles and getting dressed. Activities like this help children strengthen their fine motor skills, hand coordination, and independence while building confidence in their abilities.
Learning how to manage buttons, zips, and buckles may seem simple, but for young children it is a big step toward self-help skills and feeling capable in their daily routines.
At Giggles Preschool we love creating opportunities for children to practise real life skills through playful learning. Every small success helps build independence and pride in what they can do. ๐

๐ What Children Are Really Saying With โDifficultโ Behaviour ๐
Behind every challenging behaviour is a child struggling with a feeling, a need, or a skill they have not yet learned. Young children are still developing emotional regulation, communication, and coping abilities.
When a child hits, withdraws, cries frequently, or refuses to cooperate, they may be expressing overwhelm, frustration, fear, tiredness, or a need for connection. These behaviours are signals,
not problems to punish.
At Giggles Preschool, we look beyond the behaviour to understand what each child is communicating. By offering support, teaching emotional skills, and creating a safe environment, we help children grow into confident and capable learners.
Understanding always comes before correction.

๐ฆโจ Big Box, Bigger Imagination โจ๐ฆ
Sometimes the simplest materials create the richest learning opportunities. A cardboard box became a hideaway, a rocket ship, a quiet space, and a place for shared giggles all in one morning.
Through open-ended play like this, children develop problem-solving skills, social negotiation, spatial awareness, and creativity. They learn to take turns, communicate ideas, and transform ordinary objects into extraordinary adventures.
At Giggles Preschool, we value these moments of child-led exploration.
Loose parts and simple materials give every child the opportunity to create, imagine, and engage at their own level. Whether a child is seeking sensory input, connection with a friend, or a cozy retreat, there is space for all kinds of play.
Because at Giggles, imagination does not need fancy toys. It just needs opportunity. ๐ฟ

๐ Giggles of the Week ๐
Our little artists explored the vibrant joy of Holi with a colourful splatter twist! Armed with toothbrushes and bright paint, they flicked, splashed, and giggled as their pages transformed into beautiful bursts of colour.
There was so much more happening than meets the eye. They were strengthening little hands, building coordination, and sparking conversations about celebrations around the world. Watching their excitement as each splash landed was pure magic. ๐โจ
At Giggles Preschool, we love turning cultural learning into hands-on, joy-filled experiences that help our children connect, create, and grow.
What colourful creations has your little one been experimenting with lately?

๐จ Little Hands, Big Discoveries โจ
Exploring art doesnโt always require paintbrushes and paint pots! In this activity, our little artist used a cotton bud and diluted bleach on bright paper to create magical colour-changing designs. ๐๏ธ
As the bleach reacted with the paper, beautiful patterns slowly appeared โ a wonderful lesson in cause and effect, patience, and careful control. This type of process art encourages fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and creative confidence.
At Giggles Preschool, we love offering safe, closely supervised sensory experiences that spark curiosity and wonder. Watching their faces as the colours transformed was pure magic! ๐

๐ Swinging into Strength and Smiles ๐ฟ
There is something so powerful about simple outdoor play. This little one is building core strength, balance, and coordination while gently swinging and adjusting her body to stay steady.
Swings are more than just fun. They support vestibular development, help children regulate their bodies, and build confidence as they learn to control their movements. For many of our sensory seekers, this kind of input is calming and organising. For others, it is a brave step in building trust in their own bodies.
At Giggles Preschool, outdoor play is intentional. It is where resilience grows, independence develops, and joyful learning happens naturally.

๐จ Celebrating Holi with Colour ๐
Our little artists explored the beautiful festival of Holi through vibrant colours and creative expression.
Holi is known as the Festival of Colours โ a time that celebrates joy, togetherness and new beginnings. Through painting, the children explored bright colour combinations, experimented with colour mixing, and enjoyed the freedom of expressive art.
Activities like this were not only wonderful for fine motor development and creativity, but they also helped the children learn about different cultures and traditions in a respectful and age-appropriate way. At Giggles Preschool, we believe that celebrating diversity helps build empathy, understanding and inclusive hearts. ๐
What is your favourite colour to celebrate with?

๐ท Shape Detectives at Work ๐ถ
Little hands, big thinking happening here!
Sorting shapes and posting coloured sticks might look simple, but this activity is building so much more than we realise. The children are strengthening fine motor muscles, refining handโeye coordination, learning spatial awareness, and developing early problem-solving skills as they figure out which shape fits where.
Thereโs also beautiful collaboration happening โ watching, waiting, taking turns, and sometimes helping a friend find the right match. These are the quiet social skills that matter just as much as the academic ones.
At Giggles Preschool, we love activities that challenge thinking while keeping hands busy and engaged. Learning through play lays the strongest foundation. ๐
What shape is your little one most confident with right now โ circle, triangle, or square?
