Learning Through Movement πŸƒβ€β™€οΈβœ¨

Sometimes learning looks like play! Our little learners were busy navigating an obstacle course, using the roller to weave between the cones and practising their balance, coordination and body awareness along the way. 🧑

Big movements, big concentration and lots of fun! 🌟

πŸ”€ Letters, Sounds & Matching! πŸ”€

Learning through play makes phonics fun! πŸ’›

In this game, the children matched picture cards to their beginning sounds, recognising letters and connecting them to the sounds they hear in words.

A simple game with lots of learning happening along the way β€” building phonological awareness, vocabulary, letter recognition and early reading skills. πŸ“šβœ¨

πŸ”Ί Shape, Colour & Fine-Motor Fun! πŸ”΅

Our little learners were busy creating shapes on geoboards using elastic bands! 🧠✨

This hands-on activity is a great way to develop fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness and shape recognition while encouraging creativity and problem-solving.

Who knew a few rubber bands could provide so much learning fun? πŸŒˆπŸ’›

🌟 ✨ Building Independence, One Step at a Time ✨ 🌟

Independence doesn't happen all at once. It grows through everyday opportunities to make choices, solve problems, and try new things with gentle guidance and encouragement.

At Giggles Preschool, we create a supportive environment where children are encouraged to do things for themselves, whether it's packing away toys, putting on their shoes, or making simple decisions during play. By offering support without taking over, we help children build confidence in their own abilities.

Fostering independence helps children develop responsibility, resilience, and the self-belief to face new challenges with confidence.

Little Hands, Big Learning! βœ‹πŸ’•

Teacher Magmoedah is helping our little Giggle trace around their hand, creating their very own handprint! βœοΈπŸ–οΈ

Activities like this are a wonderful way to develop fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination and body awareness, while also encouraging children to explore and recognise their own little hands.

Sometimes the simplest activities create the biggest learning moments! 🌈✨

Giggles of the Week πŸ§©πŸ‘Ύ

This week we’ve been having some monster-sized fun with shapes! πŸ‘€πŸ’œ

Our little Giggles used their problem-solving skills to piece together our monster shape puzzle, matching shapes and working out where each piece belongs. 🧩

A fun activity that helps build shape recognition, visual discrimination, concentration, fine-motor skills and perseverance β€” all while having lots of fun! 🌟

Who knew learning shapes could be so monstrously fun? πŸ‘ΎπŸ’™

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Who Can Reach the Sign? πŸͺ§

Sometimes the best learning moments happen during free play! πŸ’›

These two little explorers decided to set themselves a challenge β€” who could reach the sign first?

They created their own little game, challenged each other and had so much fun racing to see who could get there first! 🌟

We love watching our little ones turn everyday surroundings into opportunities for movement, problem-solving, coordination and friendly competition β€” all while simply playing and having fun! πŸ₯°

πŸ₯πŸŽ¨ Percussion, Pastels, Patterns & Phonics! 🎨πŸ₯

We combined music, art and phonics into one fun learning experience!

The children explored percussion instruments by colouring a picture of a drum using pastels and creating their own colourful patterns. 🌈

We also added some phonics fun, focusing on the β€œP” sound and thinking of words that begin with P β€” percussion, pastel, pattern, paint, purple and more! πŸ”€βœ¨

A wonderful way to build phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fine-motor skills, pattern recognition and creativity all through one engaging activity.

Who knew the letter P could bring together so much learning? πŸ’œπŸ₯πŸŽ¨

🎨πŸ₯ Painting to the Beat! πŸ₯πŸŽ¨

Who knew painting could become a musical experience? πŸ’• Today, our little artists explored rhythm, movement and creativity with a fun marble-painting activity!

With a metronome setting the beat, the children moved their trays and watched the marbles roll through the paint, creating colourful lines and patterns in time with the rhythm. πŸŽΆπŸ–ŒοΈ

This simple activity is so much more than making beautiful artwork. It encourages: ✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Fine and gross motor skills
✨ Rhythm and listening skills
✨ Focus and concentration
✨ Cause-and-effect learning
✨ Creativity and self-expression

And, of course, lots of messy, joyful fun! πŸŒˆπŸ’›

At Giggles Preschool, we love finding creative ways to turn play into meaningful learning. 🌟

🌟 Helping Children Navigate Change 🌟

Change can be challenging for young children. New routines, environments, or experiences can feel overwhelming if children are not prepared or supported.

At Giggles Preschool, we guide children through change by providing clear expectations, gentle explanations, and consistent reassurance. We encourage children to express their feelings and
validate their experiences, helping them develop coping strategies and emotional resilience.

Supporting children through change builds confidence, adaptability, and a sense of security that lasts beyond the classroom.
