Jayden Dickson steps into the spotlight as Mr Bojangles and he’s just getting started. Jayden Dickson is fast becoming one of South Africa’s most versatile young triple threats.
He recently took on the iconic role of Mr Bojangles in Cape Town City Ballet’s vibrant celebration of the Big Band golden age, and added another standout credit starring opposite writer-director Wessel Pretorius in the acclaimed Squash.
Next stop: Woordfees!🎭 This October, catch Jayden in the acclaimed KKNK production Ge-Gebergtes, a moving work with movement direction by our very own Sylvaine Strike.
He shares the stage with a phenomenal cast: Carel Trichardt, Kanna Award-winner Daneel van der Walt, Ntombi Makhutshi and Miché van Wyk.
One seriously busy LAMTA graduate. 👏

A quick addition to the castle! 🏰 Joining in for the JHB stretch of the run, we’re so happy to share that Simone Neethling Simone Neethling has stepped into The Rocky Horror Show cast as a Phantom! 🩸👠🌟
From playing Juliet at the Maynardville Open-Air Festival to jumping between stage and screen projects, Simone has been steadily building a great body of work. Now she’s bringing her talent to the stage at the Pieter Toerien Montecasino Theatre. 🎭
With the Johannesburg run coming to a close very soon, this is your last chance to catch her in action! 🕺💃

Looking back at Fancy That 🎭✨ this year’s 2nd Year Playground Project!
We give our second-years complete carte blanche: write it, direct it, stage it, star in it. No net.
The result? An explosion of talent, sharp imagination, and original storytelling, blending drama, movement, music, and even puppetry.
Watching these emerging artists push their limits and step fully into their own as creative visionaries was one of the standout moments of Term 2 at LAMTA.

The audition room was electric with prepared sides, cold reads, and high-stakes callbacks. Our students brought their absolute A-game for our upcoming acting production. Casting decisions are never easy with talent like this, but the support for each other is something else. Very proud of these young up-& coming professionals…
