PSA for my SDPs and business owners 📢👇🏽
Did the 30 April WSP/ATR deadline catch you slipping? 😬 Were you busy living and forgot you also had to submit? Did you blink and it was 1 May? 🥲
Friend, breathe. I’m not here to shame you. I’m here to help you. 💛
Here’s the tea ☕ — most SETAs won’t give late submitters anything (your 20% mandatory grant just vanishes like data on month-end 😩). BUT, a few SETAs are giving second chances. Listen carefully:
✅ HWSETA — extended to 31 May 2026, but ONLY if you already started your submission on the system before 30 April. No exceptions. 🚪
✅ Services SETA — formal extension possible to 31 May 2026, but you must submit a written request through the system. Approval is NOT automatic. ✍🏽
❌ ETDP SETA — sorry love, that ship has sailed. ⛵
❌ Most others — also closed. 😔
⚠️ What’s at stake if you miss it completely:
🔻 Your 20% Mandatory Grant — gone for the whole year
🔻 Discretionary grants for learnerships & internships — also affected
🔻 Your B-BBEE scorecard — can drop by up to TWO levels
🔻 Big tenders — possibly disqualified
🔻 Your peace — let’s not even talk about it 😩 Quick clarity for the new SDPs sliding into my DMs confused:
📌 SETAs = the funders. They handle WSP/ATR, grants, and your skills levy refund.
📌 QCTO = the gatekeeper. They handle your accreditation, qualifications, and assessment centre approvals.
You need BOTH, friend. SETAs pay for the training. QCTO decides what you’re allowed to train. They are not the same office. They will not call each other on your behalf. 😅
What to do TODAY if you missed it:
1️⃣ Log into your SETA system and check your status — is it “Pending” or “Submitted”? There’s a BIG difference. 👀
2️⃣ If your SETA allows extensions, apply IN WRITING — today. Not tomorrow. Today. ⏰
3️⃣ If you’ve completely missed it, start preparing NOW for the 2026/27 cycle. Don’t repeat this trauma next April. 🙏🏽
4️⃣ DM me. Seriously. This is exactly the kind of admin chaos I built a system to fix. ✨
We’re building something — a community where SDPs and business owners support each other so that nobody misses these deadlines alone again. Workshops, templates, real talk, a Q&A platform where you can ask me ANYTHING about QCTO and the sector — coming SOON. 💛
If you’re tired of figuring this out by yourself at 2am while googling acronyms — comment “Count me in” or DM me. The community door is open. 🚪✨
We rise together. Even when SETAs ghost us. 😂

Workers’ Day, Mzansi. 🇿🇦
To every pair of hands building this nation — the spaza owner opening at sunrise, the taxi driver, the farmer, the nurse on night shift, the domestic worker, the security guard, the student, the entrepreneur, every hustler finding a way.
Your work matters.
It’s easy to feel tired. Easy to feel unseen. But every honest day’s work is a brick in something bigger. No job is too small. No effort is wasted. There is dignity in every kind of work.
Yes, the journey is tough. But keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep growing. What you’re building — slowly, quietly, consistently — will bear fruit.
Our strength has never been in comfort. It’s in resilience, in ubuntu, in the courage to keep going.
Stand tall. Be proud of what you do.
Because Mzansi moves forward — because you do. 🇿🇦

A PhD student told me something that changed how I think about education. He said "I have come to accept that education was designed to slow people down."
A PhD student said that.
Not a dropout. Not someone who failed. Someone deep inside the system who finally saw it for what it is.
And before you attack me..
This is not an attack on education.
This is a reality check.
You spent 16 years in school. Primary. Secondary. University. Maybe a masters. Maybe you are now doing a PhD.
And after all that time and all that money what do you actually have?
A certificate.
And a prayer that someone who was not in class with you will give you a job.
That is the system.
It was built to standardize you. Not individualize you. It was built to condition you. Not accelerate you. It was built to prepare you for a world that no longer exists.
And the most dangerous part is...
Education feels like progress even when it is not.
You attend lectures and feel productive. You pass exams and feel accomplished. You collect certificates and feel like you are moving forward.
But your bank balance has not changed. Your skill set has not grown. Your ability to solve real problems has not improved.
You are busy but you are not building.
Meanwhile the world outside your classroom is moving.
Industries are shifting. Skills are evolving. AI is disrupting entire professions. New tools are replacing old methods.
And you are still inside collecting papers instead of momentum.
Here is what nobody told you in school.
A degree without direction is just an expensive delay. A course without clarity is a cage you paid to enter. Education without ex*****on is the most sophisticated form of procrastination.
You can have a first class honours and still not know how to price a service. You can have a masters and still not know how to pitch a client. You can have a PhD and still not know how to make money from what you know.
Because school taught you to pass exams.
It did not teach you to solve problems.
So what do you do?
Go to school if you must. There is nothing wrong with education.
But do not stop there.
While you are in school learn something the syllabus will never teach you.
Learn to sell. Learn to design. Learn to write. Learn to speak. Learn to build. Learn to market yourself. Learn to lead.
Use your degree as a tool.
Not your identity.
Because out here in the real world nobody asks what grade you got.
They ask one question.
What value can you bring?
If you cannot answer that clearly then all those years in school just gave you a nice frame for your wall.
And frames do not pay rent.
