Field trip to Stellenbosch.
Our first stop was Blouklip farm, where our students got to see the landscape behind their upcoming textile commission up close. And the second stop was the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden. And while all of that was happening, our founder was in a meeting about opening a campus there.

Our students took a trip to Stellenbosch to visit Blouklip farm. The owners have commissioned Craft School South Africa to create a textile piece inspired by the farm's landscape, so the students went to see it for themselves. After the visit, they headed to the Dylan Lewis Sculpture Garden, a well-deserved treat and a great source of creative inspiration. While the students explored, our founder and staff met to discuss plans for a future campus in Stellenbosch. A full and exciting day all round!

48 Furniture Making & Restoration students are now on campus and already getting creative. Their first project was learning about scale and proportion, building 1:5 furniture models out of cardboard. We are so excited to watch this group grow! ๐ช๐จ

The official opening of Craft School South Africa at our campus in Woodstock marked the beginning of an important journey.
Guests visited the campus, met the students, and saw their first handcrafted pieces as the programme gets underway. We are grateful to everyone who joined us for this milestone.

Last Tuesday, 24 March 2026, marked a very special day for Craft School South Africa as we officially opened! With the support of Alderman James Vos and our students by our side, we cut the ribbon together - a symbolic beginning of a much bigger journey.
Our goal is not only to graduate 55 confident young South Africans by December 2026, but to equip them with practical skills, creativity, and a support network they can return to throughout their careers.
We would like to thank our supporters, partners, and donors for walking this path with us. This is only the beginning.

On Day 3 at Craft School, our students connected with industry professionals.
A big thank you to Tebogo Legodi and Noel Paulson from the TFG fashion group for visiting our campus and sharing their journeys.
They inspired students with creative and business insight. It was a powerful start to what we hope will be a long and meaningful partnership.
