📢 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: CPUT AI Africa Hackathon & Expo 2026 – Date Adjustment

Dear Partners, Sponsors, Exhibitors, and the African Tech Community,

I, Zola Dlamini, Project Founder and Lead of the ecosystem Africa Youth Empowerment Initiative – the CPUT AI Africa Hackathon and Expo for Matriculants, Tertiary Students, and Young Tech Entrepreneurs – wish to formally announce that, in mutual agreement with our project partners, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (BiiC and SIP) , we have decided to postpone the inaugural staging of our 3‑day event.

New Dates:

· Inaugural Edition: Towards the end of the first semester 2027
· Second Edition: September/October 2027

Why the Adjustment?

This decision was made to ensure:

· Thorough Preparation & Quality Delivery: Additional time allows us to secure strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and production excellence.
· Academic Alignment: Better alignment with the academic calendar ensures maximum student participation.
· Stronger Impact: A well-prepared event delivers better outcomes for participants, partners, and the broader ecosystem.

What’s Next?

· Online Programmes Launching Soon: Our digital learning and engagement platforms will go live shortly. All information will be available on our official website and CPUT's institutional portal.
· Recruitment Drive: We will soon begin recruiting staff and volunteers – with a focus on students and postgraduates from CPUT. A Personal Assistant for the Project Lead is our immediate priority.

We remain fully committed to empowering Africa's youth with practical AI skills and creating pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. We look forward to your continued support as we build this movement together.
