Why Talented Individuals Struggle with Leadership 29/05/2018

Why Talented Individuals Struggle with Leadership

We learn this often among our athlete learners. Luckily for RYI, this phenomena in the township setting advances a more complex argument.

Why Talented Individuals Struggle with Leadership Do superstar athletes truly relate to the struggles most people have to endure to reach the peak of their sport? After all, these once in a lifetime athletes perform seemingly impossible feats with apparent ease. If not, can superstar athletes skipper a team filled with less talented individuals? CO

Recreating Community

RYI acknowledges the psychological breakdown of SA communities through apartheid, as such, our story sees a success of a township institutions to level up in the international playground, as leaders and strong role players in all competitive industries.

Following years of trial and error in Khayelitsha, RYI constantly develops strategies to engage youth in leadership roles to influence a new pattern of psychological advance. Our organisation partners with schools and homes, who form crucial stakeholders in developing an positive effective cycle, that not only eradicates mass sceptisism but builds competitive best practices to develop a township child.

Reviewing Parenting in Townships

Over the years, we have noticed that a leak and misdirection in parenting roles cannot be left unturned. We have dealt with parents who lack understanding of positive psychological implications, and we sought to direct research toward the importance of parenting models which counter apartheid influence.

Using stories of sport profile has been best to indicate how parent influence is key to child success, for instance tennis’ Williams sisters and their father as a source of support. We therefore create relationships with parents to meet this foundation.
