Jesus Is Alive The Power Of The Cross

Inspiration

Hope is a powerful force in our lives, especially in times of heartache or sickness. When we face challenges, it's easy to feel despair. However, the promise of hope reminds us that our circumstances do not define our future. Hope fuels our hearts, giving us the strength to endure and the faith to believe in better days ahead. It is in our moments of weakness that we can find God's strength, assuring us that He is with us even in our darkest times. Let us hold on to hope, for it is a light that guides our hearts through the trials of life.

God had promised David that his house, his kingly line, would continue forever. And though it was interrupted when Judah fell to Babylon in 586 B. C. , Jesus Christ came as the Messianic Son of David and fulfills, and will fulfill, the promises God made to David.

The Christian has a grand and eternal hope, which is guaranteed Him by the very Word of God. It is this hope that refreshes His soul and enables Him to endure and continue in the faith, even in great tribulation. And the joy of this hope seems only to grow the brighter, the darker be the situation in which the Christian is presently found.

We do not know what tomorrow holds, but we can trust God. Why? Because God does know. He knows the beginning and the ending. He spoke the world into creation. He is the Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End. He knew our names before we were born. We can rest assured that he knows what tomorrow, and the next day, and eternity will bring because he created it.

Paul uses a strong word here, but in Greek and older English it has the meaning of "judgment," in this context, and not an eternal condemnation to Hell. Paul is not saying you will perish eternally if you eat the Lord's Supper unworthily. But he is saying that God may discipline believers who partake in an irreverent manner, seeing how great and holy a thing Communion symbolizes.

Your sins have consequences. Even if you confess and are forgiven, you may still feel the shame of those sins. Ask the Lord to help with your shame. When we sin, we also hurt those around us. We need to be aware that sin often has a ripple effect – we may cause others disgrace. When Christians sin, nonbelievers question our faith. Do not let this happen to you. Walk in the light – we cannot hide our sin from the Lord.

God's commands were to be the everyday meditation of the Israelites. They were to not only teach God's Word to their children formally but also in the course of the ordinary habits of life and at all times of the day.

The Jews were told to swear oaths only in the name of Jehovah their God. Jesus tells us it is better to swear no oath at all than to swear one and then break it, but there were times when an oath was appropriate. But our "yes" should mean "yes" and our "no" mean "no" regardless of whether it be uttered in the form of an oath or not.

Christ was offered only once that he might bear the sins of many. He was the one-time sacrifice for sin that paid the sin-debt of his people once for all. He is not sacrificed again and again in the weekly mass, nor is there need for animal sacrifices to continue, nor can men add their own good works to the price He has paid for sin.

God has never shirked his responsibility to his children. Bad things may of course also happen to good people, but that is not what is simply meant here. For our earthly bodies are encumbrances in the afterlife, shed so the spirit may roam free. All bad we endure on earth here are at the hands of men, and to be taken as part of God's trails, since he still watches over us. But remember, our ultimate, and our most important safeguarding comes in the afterlife. The faithful are rewarded, and in Heaven their souls are all finally protected from evil. Where we will be at last, safe and secure in everlasting peace.
