From my time working in schools, I have seen the value of a psycho-educational assessment in helping us better understand how a child learns and experiences the world.
An assessment is about looking beyond marks and behaviours to uncover the pieces of information that help us make sense of a child’s difficulties, recognise their strengths, and understand the support they may need.
It also becomes a collaborative process. Parents, teachers, therapists, and schools each hold valuable pieces of information, and when these are thoughtfully brought together, we are often better able to support the child in meaningful and practical ways.
At the centre of the process is always the child, not just the difficulties they may be experiencing, but their strengths, personality, and potential too.
If you are unsure where to begin, you are welcome to reach out.🌱
