OPPORTUNITY ALERT | DIGITAL AMBASSADOR VACANCY

Western Cape CET College is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for former and current CET students.

The National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA) is recruiting a Digital Ambassador to be based at the Western Cape CET College Central Office in Cape Town as part of the Ya Rona Digital Programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting digital literacy by facilitating training and supporting communities to develop essential digital skills.

Minimum Requirements:
✔️ Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent
✔️ Basic or intermediate computer certificate
✔️ Former or current CET student
✔️ Experience in training, facilitation, tutoring, or community development will be an added advantage.

Monthly Stipend: R4 500

Closing Date: 19 June 2026 at 16:30

In commemoration of the 1976 Youth Uprising, Western Cape CET College was honoured to participate in the 2026 Provincial Youth Expo held in Kleinmond.

Hosted by the Western Cape Department of Social Development in partnership with The Grail Trust, this year's Expo was held under the inspiring theme: "Economic Uprising for the Next 50 Years: Partnerships for Skills, Jobs, and Youth Development." The event provided young people with access to education, skills development, employment, entrepreneurship, health, and personal development opportunities.

The Expo was attended by Provincial Minister of Social Development, Provincial Minister Jaco Londt alongside government departments, education and training institutions, community organisations, industry partners, and young people from across the Western Cape.

As The Western Cape CET College, we are proud to stand alongside our communities, empowering individuals, creating opportunities, and contributing to stronger more resilient communities. Our participation reflects our ongoing commitment to accessible quality education and lifelong learning that transforms lives.

The Western Cape CET College community hereby informs colleagues, students, stakeholders, and members of the public of the memorial service arrangements for Ms Petersen, Centre Manager of Villiersdorp Community Learning Centre.

We honour and celebrate her dedicated service, leadership, and meaningful contribution to the College community.

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Ms Petersen, Centre Manager of Villiersdorp Community Learning Centre.

Ms Petersen served Western Cape CET College with dedication, compassion, and professionalism. Through her leadership and commitment to education, she made a meaningful difference in the lives of learners, colleagues, and the communities she served.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, learners, and all who were touched by her kindness and service.

Her contribution to the College and the Higher Education Sector will be remembered with gratitude and respect.

The Western Cape CET College SRC President Heather Aston and Carolus Colby attended the Post Budget Vote Gala Dinner hosted by Deputy Minister Buti Manamela at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s Granger Bay Campus.

The gala dinner created an opportunity for meaningful engagement among leaders and stakeholders in the PSET sector, highlighting the importance of partnerships, student development, and advancing access to quality education and training.
