There's a lot more happening than meets the eye.

At Little Lights, play is how our children explore, experiment, communicate, create, problem-solve and make sense of the world around them.

A paintbrush isn't just a paintbrush.
A game isn't just a game.
And a pile of playdough isn't just a pile of playdough.

Behind the fun are little minds developing, little hands strengthening and little people learning how to navigate the world, one experience at a time.

That's the magic of learning through play.

Happy Heritage Day from our Little Lights family! 🇿🇦

Today our little learners celebrated the wonderful diversity and heritage of our beautiful South Africa.

From making their very own South African flags, to dressing up, sharing in heritage traditions and enjoying some special treats, it was a day filled with colour, curiosity, creativity and celebration.

We love giving our children opportunities to learn about the people, cultures and traditions that make up the world around them, and to understand that every story and tradition has something special to share.

And just like that… Term 3 is a wrap! ✨

What a little adventure it has been.
From busy hands and curious minds to friendships, giggles, discoveries and those everyday little moments that make preschool so special, we've loved watching our Little Lights grow.

To our Twinkles, Little Stars, Sunrays and Fireflies: well done on another wonderful term! 🌱

And to our families — thank you for being part of our little community.
Now it's time to rest, recharge, enjoy some family time and make a few memories of your own. 💛

For some of our teachers and children, though, the fun continues with our Holiday Club from Monday 28 September — with lots of exciting adventures and fun-filled days planned!

Our Twinkles & Little Stars are our youngest learners, and every day is filled with opportunities to explore, discover and grow.

At this age, learning doesn't always look like sitting at a desk with a worksheet.

Sometimes it looks like squishing playdough, getting covered in paint, sticking little pieces of paper, building, creating and making a glorious mess. 🎨

But underneath all that fun, there is so much happening.

Busy little hands are developing fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Little minds are making choices, solving simple problems and discovering cause and effect.
Our children are learning to listen, take turns, share, communicate and care for the people around them.
And, perhaps most importantly, they're beginning to develop confidence and independence as they try new things for themselves.

Everything we offer is thoughtfully chosen to be age-appropriate, purposeful and playful — because we believe two- and three-year-olds learn best when they can explore the world with their whole selves.

So yes… there is plenty of fun. 💛
There is plenty of mess.
There are plenty of masterpieces that only make sense to us. 😂

And there is a whole lot of learning happening in between.

This is learning through play.
This is Little Lights. ✨
