The Vuya Foundation ensure that our teachers at our Early Childhood Development facilities (kindergartens) are always qualified and empowered to look after the children in our care.

Our staff attend regular refresher courses.

Here, some of our teachers from Oppie Koppie Kindergarten attend a first aid course!

Oppie Koppie looks after 150 children every year from the Prince Alfred's Hamlet in the Western Cape and has done so for 14 years!

At our Oppie Koppie Creche, we are blessed with space to grow a vegetable garden where the children can learn about the source of food and caring for plants. This hands-on experience not only teaches them important lessons but also contributes to their nutritious meals. 🌱🥕

A big thanks to our community members including Perdekraal Wind Community who have supported the development of our veggie gardens.

We have taken it one step further by taking early childhood education to outlying areas. Our two creches: Oppie Koppie and New Rest Valley are run by a dedicated team of passionate people, from the Vuya office team, to the principals, teachers, assistants, caretakers, and community members.

All of this is made possible by our donors and partners. We are so grateful and take our responsibility seriously to provide the 170+ children with the best foundation in their education.

Two weeks ago we were visited by granny who brought us some warm wooly caps to help us through winter cold and wet weather. And now another granny arrived bearing more warm gifts- scarves to keep our little necks and heads warm!!

A special thank you to Granny Schwarz and your knitting friends, Granny Ge**er and Granny Geldenhys for knitting and crocheting for months to deliver these beautiful scarves to our students and teachers! 🧶🧣❤️
