A Special Gathering with Shaykh Mohamed al-Mishry حفظه الله

We are honoured to welcome Shaykh Mohamed al-Mishry, a distinguished Mauritanian scholar, descendant of the family of the Prophet ﷺ, and Director of Studies in Maʿṭā Mūlānā, Mauritania.

With over 20 years of teaching experience in the traditional Mauritanian Mahdharah (المحظرة) system, Shaykh Mohamed al Mishir is renowned for his mastery of the sacred sciences, Manẓūmāt (poetry of the sacred sciences), and the structured study of classical Islamic texts.

Brought to South Africa by the Shinqīṭ Foundation for a teaching tour, Shaykh al Mishri has been sharing the rich Mauritanian methodology of learning and studying.

Sunday will be the final formal sitting with this esteemed scholar.

Shaykh Muhammad al-Mishry in Cape Town 🇲🇷

Shinqit Foundation, in collaboration with Baseerah Institute, is honoured to host a series of classes and sittings with Shaykh Muhammad al-Mishry ~ a traditional Mauritanian scholar and a descendant of the noble lineage of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ 💚

Shaykh Muhammad has taught in the maḥḍarah (traditional Mauritanian seminary) for over 18 years and currently serves as the Director of the Maḥḍarah in Ma’tamoulana for both men and women.

The Mauritanian maḥḍarah is a time-honoured tradition of learning centred upon the study, memorisation, and transmission of the mutūn (classical foundational texts). Through this methodology, Shaykh Muhammad continues to preserve and impart a rich scholarly legacy that has been cultivated and passed down for centuries.
