What a week it has been!!!!!
Our Showcase was nothing short of magical. The students delivered performances filled with courage, heart and genuine artistry. Big words, I know — but they were matched by even bigger actions on stage.
My personal test for any young performer is simple: Can they hold the attention of an audience?
Well… the venue was silent. Completely engaged. Every seat was filled and every moment mattered.
I honestly could not have been prouder of them all. I shook through the entire show watching these young performers step into their light — and shine they absolutely did!!!!!
And now… as one beautiful chapter closes, another exciting week begins.
“Mom and I” are back in rehearsal mode and preparing to take to the stage once again at the iconic Baxter Theatre Centre for the beloved Morning Melodies programme. The next few days will be filled with harmonies, note-finding, lyric-remembering and plenty of laughter as we get performance ready once more.
Then it’s off to the beautiful Paternoster for another special performance — and we are absolutely loving the joyful bustle of these busy days.
This show is especially close to my heart as we celebrate my mom’s incredible 88th year on planet Earth. Still standing. Still singing. Still finding joy in every single note. ❤️

Young performers showcasing their talents, experimenting with different songs and challenging themselves to perform in a real, live environment.
Well its been a while since we've done this. I'm excited to present the academy's talented enthusiastic performers.....all in different places in their individual journeys.
We'd love to see you there

So… when your mum (Judy Page) turns 88, obviously the sensible thing to do is produce a full-blown show. 🎭 You make her remember words, project her voice, hike onto stage’s and most sensibly….indulge in and eat chocolate cake by the spoonful.
That’s exactly what we did for Mum’s birthday, and somehow it turned into one of the most joyful, funny, heart-warming evenings imaginable. We had an absolute ball putting the show together and then showing it off to a full house of warm, friendly, and wonderfully receptive people who laughed in all the right places and cried in most of the songs.
I’m pleased to report that I remained (relatively) perfectly composed and professional throughout the entire performance… right up until the final song. At which point I dissolved and the tears flowed freely all through the finale. To be fair, the audience had already been crying through half the show — but I’m fairly sure those were happy tears (and possibly a bit of sympathy too).
Huge thanks to Lenhard at Artists Gallery for suggesting and allowing us such a beautiful space to shine in and for helping create a birthday celebration worthy of an 88-year-old star. Your team were endlessly kind and helpful while we turned the place into our temporary musical playground.
And to Khan of Acoustics — my faithful sound wizard and general rescuer of performers everywhere — thank you for always being there when I need a sound friend.
A heartfelt thank you to my endlessly supportive, caring, and very proud husband, Banner, who somehow always stands by me whenever I get the urge to organise something mildly outrageous like this.
To everyone who helped make the evening happen, and to the fabulous audience and family who shared it with us: thank you for making Mum’s actual 88th such a memorable, laughter-filled celebration.
We would love to do it again and be able to get to chatting to all of your friendly beautiful faces. Thank you to everyone who came.

"We will Rock you" was amazing, not only inspiring our students to the next level of vocals but also understanding the necessity for repetition and perfection in your performance.
Only then are you good enough to get onto those big stages. Eish, it is a lot of work and staying power!
Some of our students have go the grit, but all who came to the performance are developing it.
Onwards and upwards.
