At the beginning of 2026, our Principal cast a vision of Excellence for Capricorn Primary School. For the past six months, we have intentionally focused on this vision through our Monday assemblies, where different values were taught, discussed, and encouraged.
Today, we are filled with pride as we reflect on how our educators and learners embraced this vision and put these values into practice. Excellence is not just about achievement; it is about the choices we make every day, the respect we show others, the responsibility we take for our actions, and the commitment we have to being our very best.
A special thank you to every educator for modelling these values and to every learner who has lived them out over the past six months. Your dedication has contributed to building a positive and thriving school culture.

Today our community stood together as one through the power of sport. ⚽🤝
The learners of Capricorn Primary and Ithemba Primary showed true teamwork, discipline, passion, and sportsmanship during today’s U12 and U14 soccer matches. Moments like these remind us that football is more than just a game it brings our youth together, builds friendships, creates opportunities, and keeps the spirit of unity alive within the Vrygrond community.
A special thank you to both teams for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the sport. Every pass, tackle, and goal showed determination and heart. Today we celebrated Science and Mathematics Week at Capricorn Primary School!🧪📐
Our learners showcased their creativity by designing functional structures and models, dressing up as scientists and mathematicians, and taking part in a fun-filled modelling competition. 🌟👩🔬👨🔬
After a long week of rain, these young stars still found a way to brighten our hearts and shine with confidence, creativity, and joy. 💡✨
