Femme no longer has any funds for emergency payments, we know the situation is incredibly tough but unfortunately we have distributed all the money we raised. The last few weeks have been incredibly stressful. We are worried about our families, our friends, our jobs and what this lockdown could mean for our futures.

But the organizing must continue because inequalities do not go away when a pandemic strikes, it exposes it even more.

We are calling on you to assist us in supporting shelters and feminist led initiatives in South Africa with sanitizers, toiletries, food & reusable pads.

Yesterday, we hosted Naomi Campbell at the first school we ever facilitated in 2014, Marian RC High in Matroosfontein.

The energy was palpable as she told the learners her story, her love for her mother, for our country and her need to see young people empowered.

One learner asked her what her biggest challenge was when she became a model and she said:
"Firstly I'm black, but the colour of my skin was never a problem for me. It was a problem for other people. Luckily, I don't believe in the word 'no'. So I worked through these challenges. The thing about a challenge is that it can always be turned around "

It was a day to remember.
Together we can create the change even through the challenges we face.
Together we can implement workshops in schools like Marian RC High in Matroosfontein.
Together we can keep Sexual Education continuous and Feminist.

Hi All. We are really in need of an accountant/auditor who can audit our books for us so we can do our funding applications!!! All our paperwork has been neatly kept. We will pay, and understand that this is a very valuable skill but we would appreciate a lower rate/ some kind of conversation around costs. Thank you!

In our workshops we always have heated debates about explicit consent.

There is usually a passionately split crowd between the: "What happened to impulsive romance?" and those who agree with asking before acting.

Taking the time to ask someone you are interested in for permission to cross a certain physical boundary does not take away the romance, it adds to it. The passion, the romance and the tension will definitely not evaporate due to a question of consent.

Give someone the space to decide.
