It has been wonderful to see the fantastic response to the Revision Schools this year!

Many of the subjects are in their second duplicate sessions due to the overwhelming numbers registering.

Registration closes on WEDNESDAY, 7 OCTOBER, so you only have 3 weeks left to register. Please don’t wait until the last moment to register, though, because the courses will probably be fully booked by then.

These courses are NOT restricted to BHS learners. This year, the Revision Schools will run for 4 Saturdays: 10, 17, 24 and 31 October, and end about a week or two before everyone is due to write their final examinations.

The revision sessions aim to focus on exam preparation and give learners the study notes and knowledge to confidently approach their final exams. It is useful for those who are struggling, as well as those who are aiming for A’s!

These coaching sessions are especially important for the Grade 11’s who will need to use their Grade 11 final results when they apply to tertiary institutions at the beginning of next year.

We have therefore added an Exam-Ready: Grade 8 Maths programme this year because the move from Primary school to High School mathematics is a significant adjustment, and many of the Grade 8’s are unsure of what to expect in their first formal High School Maths exams. This year has just flown by, and it is time to have a look at what we have on offer in the final term of 2026.

The Fourth Term programme is always more concise because we are all busy and have less time for ourselves, but there are some exciting new courses on offer next term.

KNOW YOUR BIRDS: INTRODUCTION TO BIRDS OF THE SOUTH-WESTERN CAPE

Don’t miss out on this popular course! Birdwatching is such an exciting world to explore, and you needn’t go further than your backyard to encounter the most amazing birds! Dalton, who is not only very knowledgeable about all aspects of birds and bird life but is also passionate about the subject, will introduce you to the birds that can be found in the South-Western Cape and what you need to do to keep them in your garden!
In addition to the lecture at BHS on 24 August, you will be given the opportunity to see the birds in their natural environment by going on field trips to Strandfontein (Saturday 29 August from 09:00 – 12:00), as well as Rondevlei Nature Reserve (Saturday 5 September from 09:00 – 12:00), where you might even get to ring birds! These field trips will be arranged at the first session advertised below. No age restriction applies to this course, so bring the whole family along! The course fee includes the in-house session, as well as the 2 field trips. Please note, however, that you will need to cover the gate fee at Rondevlei.
