As a coach and an AI facilitator, I think that combining the two is a powerful combination and something I happily share with my clients.

AI is great at creating structure, strategy and good ideas, but it cannot keep us accountable.

Many coaching clients report that coaching helped them move forward, not necessarily in a straight line or as systematically as they hoped, but they shifted incrementally until they achieved their desired outcome. This is the result of a combination of factors. When we speak our commitment out aloud to another person, we, in that moment, create accountability for ourselves, whether that person knows it or not. When we do that in the presence of a professional coach it is an act of commitment that calls for integrity and accountability. This is powerful! A coach holds up a mirror, which at times is uncomfortable to look into.

AI is totally capable of offering us a mirror perspective but the impact is lost because there is no heart or soul behind it. The screen that stares back has knowledge not wisdom, says words that we know have no substance as the AI has no lived experience that leads to true empathy and compassion.

Knowing what to use AI for and when to call in a human is going to be an important skill in this strange new future. AI was created to support us, to enable us and to expand us but without human awareness, heart and soul there is a big piece missing, that our human intelligence knows, cannot hold it accountable for promises made, anymore than a lifeless puppet can.

My sweet spot lies at the intersection of AI, business, coaching, and change management.

While many AI practitioners focus on the technology, I focus on helping people and organisations successfully adopt, embrace, and leverage it.

This morning I got to facilitate a two hour, AI CONFIDENCE BOOSTER, to a team of construction specialists- think quantity surveyors, procurement, leadership, site managers.

It required that I research their specific industry, in order to provide them with relevant prompts and AI tools that can address their particular industry needs.

The insights were varied: from being excited about how AI can build presentations in seconds, the power of words and using AI to communicate better, to the amazing OCR capabilities that make note taking much easier.
