This camp is aimed for kids aged 12 and up that are able to walk, trot and canter comfortably and have got the basics down, no extensive experience required!

Camp 2
Sep 26th & 27th 9:00 - 13:00
This camp is open to all ages although more aimed for kids between the ages of 7 and 14, no experience required! Never touched a horse before? No problem! We will be happy to have you and introduce you to the wonderful world of horses.
R350 per day per person or R600 for both days.

This is why we say to give at least 2 meters when passing a horse and rider on the roads and drive at a maximum of 10 mph. This is obviously done very slowly to demonstrate how little room we have when cars pass, but horses can spook and jump sideways at 54 mph. So, if you are driving too closely and a horse spooks and jumps sideways in a split second, imagine that force hitting your car when the car is driving more than the recommended 10 mph. You wouldn’t want that landing through your windscreen. Please give as much room as possible and drive slowly and carefully. There is room for everyone on the road; we just need to respect each other. 🙏🏻🏇🏻 For those of you who believe horses shouldn’t be on roads and think we should only ride in fields, please know that no horse rider on earth WANTS to ride on the road, but sadly many need to do so to access off-road hacking. 😣 Some of the comments left on this post are really upsetting, and it’s quite scary that people can be so narrow-minded. Please remember that even if you don’t like horses, there is still a human being on board. That’s someone’s parent, someone’s child, a brother, or a sister. It only takes a few seconds out of your day to slow down, and we all really appreciate it when you do! 🤗 Driving Instructors - please, please make sure you cover this 🙏🏻 Thank you - from every horse rider! 😊.

It's always worth posting it again...: horses owe us absolutely nothing as they just weren't born to become a humans' tool, so once we decide to get one then it's a lifetime commitment and it's our own responsibility to make them happy, first of all by satisfying all of their animal needs. Period.

🐎🔥Join us for one (or both) of our fun filled pony camps at Highland Riding Academy.

⭐️ 1. Camp ONE: ⭐️

🌸Open to anyone between the age of 7 and 18. Previous riding experience (rider should be comfortable on and around horses) is advised to gain the most out of this camp.
Riders are split into riding groups according to experience

✅ Date: 8th & 9th January 2024
✅Time: 08:00-12:00
✅Cost: R800 for both days, R500 for single day only. (Single days are subject to availability)

⭐️ 2. Camp TWO: ⭐️

🌸 Do you have a friend that you think would enjoy learning to ride horses? This camp is a great introduction to horse riding and will give the riders a head start in lessons with all the experience that they will gain over the two days!
Ages 5 - 18 welcome, all levels of experience welcome, there is something for everyone.
