Today we're thinking about every woman doing that same maths — the ones running businesses out of spare rooms, the ones paying school fees they can't quite afford, the ones who are the first in their family to do whatever it is they're doing, with nobody ahead of them to ask.

AfriHack 2026 is here! South Africa’s national innovation hackathon for young digital talent.

📍 Cape Town | 18–20 September | Woodstock

Three days. Day one you meet the industry. Day two you build, through the night, with mentors in your corner. Day three you pitch to a judging panel that includes the employers you’ve been trying to reach.

Open to South Africans aged 18–28 studying at universities, TVET colleges, and digital skills training programmes. No prior hackathon experience needed. Meals covered. Certificates recognised by partner employers. Real pathways after the event, not just a photo op.
