Congratulations to Lungile Ntuli of Empiras Global and Joshua Stapleton of Isometry on securing their places in the next round of Nedbank Pitch & Polish 2026!

They stepped up, faced the tough questions and proved that their pitches have what it takes to keep them in the competition.

But the journey isn’t getting any easier… Round 2 awaits. 👀

Do you think Lungile and Joshua have what it takes to go all the way?

Empiras was built by two women. A mother and a daughter.

One of us has been schooled in four countries and learned most of it the hard way. One of us is building the thing that means the next girl won't have to.

We disagree constantly. We finish each other's sentences. We are, on most days, the only two people in the room who believe the whole thing is possible.

Today we're thinking about every woman doing that same maths — the ones running businesses out of spare rooms, the ones paying school fees they can't quite afford, the ones who are the first in their family to do whatever it is they're doing, with nobody ahead of them to ask.

We see you. We are you.

Happy Women's Day.

24 hours. One real business challenge. A room full of the country’s top talent. 🚀

AfriHack 2026 is here! South Africa’s national innovation hackathon for young digital talent.

📍 Johannesburg | 4–6 September | Braamfontein
📍 Cape Town | 18–20 September | Woodstock

Three days. Day one you meet the industry. Day two you build, through the night, with mentors in your corner. Day three you pitch to a judging panel that includes the employers you’ve been trying to reach.

Open to South Africans aged 18–28 studying at universities, TVET colleges, and digital skills training programmes. No prior hackathon experience needed. Meals covered. Certificates recognised by partner employers. Real pathways after the event, not just a photo op.

Want in? Speak to your HOD or programme manager about being nominated. Nominations close 28th August.
