Adjudication at the annual Christmas Band competion.

Once again we were privileged to adjudicate the annual Western Cape Christmas Band competition. A very positive experience.
Why do these people not attract sponsorship from the private sector? Surely they play an important part in social upliftment.
Well done to all the bands!

Very exciting day at MUSIC MATTERS!
Six students have registered for the course "Principles of Instrumental Teaching" presented by Kim & Faan Malan.

This initiative is presented by MUSIC MATTERS, supported by the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and generously funded by the MAID Foundation.

Don't miss the first performance of the "MUSIC MATTERS Chamber Ensemble" on Sunday 13/1 at 16:00 at the Rondebosch Boys High Schools' Reeler Theatre!

Music Matters hosted two days of Chamber Music on 29 & 30 September, during which 24 musicians gathered at the DF Malan High School to play music together. Two nonets as well as smaller ensembles were formed. They performed works by Joseph Rheinberger, George Onslow, Johannes Brahms and others. We hope this will become a regular event on the Cape music calendar. A sincere thanks to the MAID Foundation, who generously sponsored the event.

We listened to Sinfonia Rotterdam, conducted by Conrad van Alphen last night in Rotterdam. Great priveledge!
