Happiness on a plate😋

Indentured Ancestry food. A simple meal of mielie rice with dry fish chutney and boiled eggs was the only protein intake for many families working on the plantations of indenture here in South Africa. Maize had to be adapted to resemble rice that was the staple of many of the worker immigrants of colonial Natal. Make this meal in remembering them...

Fridays are pizza day. If there is time, I make pizza bases but I buy the Dr Oetker 4 pack which is super crispy. Get to load plenty of veggies onto margharita bases so I love it! This helps take care of veggie bits and bobs in the fridge at the end of the week.
Usually my pizza is topped with veggies and leftovers like curry or roast, baked beans etc. Today was yesterday's mince lasagne made with brinjal instead of pasta. As usual it disappears! Luckily I am a one slice girl🙄. This was super yummy. Definitely doing this again😋

Just done with soji ladoos for Ganesha Chathurti tomorrow.
Not exactly perfect rounds but delicious 😋
These are made with semolina, butter, coconut, sesame seeds, cardamom, nutmeg and condensed milk.
My absolute favourite sweetmeat😋😋😋
