BA Honours Psychology, MA, PGCE, PGDE At EduHelp, we understand that learning goes beyond academics.

EduHelp is an independent and private enrichment/support learning/educational program designed to address the needs of learners who face challenges within the traditional schooling system. Rooted in the philosophy of nurturing the whole learner and whole person, EduHelp caters to each child's individual needs, recognizing that every learner is unique. Our approach encompasses a holistic view of educational wellness, drawing inspiration from concepts like the wellness wheel and integrated learning. With experience spanning from special needs to gifted children, EduHelp offers highly specific, practical, and innovative support. Our program is not traditional educational or school-based remediation; rather, it empowers learners to leverage their strengths for proactive and steady progress in their academic journey. Our curriculum, anchored in English language proficiency, fosters development in reading, writing, comprehension, communication, and expression. We believe in celebrating the beauty of every difficulty and embracing the uniqueness of every child. EduHelp was born out of personal experience and a deep understanding of the challenges learners face. Drawing from backgrounds in psychology, cultural history, art, teaching, disability studies, and extensive academic research in learning methodologies and counseling, our program is grounded in evidence-based practices. Our team's expertise extends across various educational levels, from early childhood development to tertiary education. We continuously refine our methods through ongoing research and collaboration with professionals, ensuring that EduHelp remains at the forefront of innovative learning support. EduHelp also offers services to parents and guardians regarding parenting guidance and parent/guardian well-being. As a primary caregiver, you are your child's source of strength. It is imperative that you have a supportive guide. Welcome to EduHelp, where we not only see the potential in every learner but also provide the tools and support they need to thrive. Disclaimer: While EduHelp offers comprehensive support for learners, it is important to note that our program does not replace specialized assistance when necessary. If your child requires specialized help beyond our scope, we will always make appropriate referrals. Additionally, while we strive to provide effective support, individual results may vary based on factors such as learning preferences and commitment to the program. We encourage parents and learners to engage with our team openly and communicate any concerns or questions they may have throughout their journey with EduHelp.

I often get calls from parents right before exams asking for help with studying. I completely understand why, when exams are approaching, suddenly everything feels urgent.

But effective study preparation really shouldn’t start two to four weeks before the exam.

There is a difference between revision throughout the year, more intensive study as exams approach, and reviewing during the exam period. Each has a place, and each serves a slightly different purpose. The work you do throughout the term gives you something to build on when it is time to study. So rather than waiting until the pressure is already on, the aim is to build a manageable study and revision routine before you need it.

This visual explains the difference in a bit more detail. ⬇️

Supporting Physical and Mental Wellbeing in a Screen-Based World

Screens are now part of everyday life — from the classroom to the workplace. But what does this mean for how we move, work, learn and regulate?

For our October Upskill Studio Guest Talk, Susanna Albertyn, Physiotherapist, and Cerise Rabie, Educational Psychologist, will explore the physical and psychological considerations of growing up and working in an increasingly screen-based world.

The discussion will include:
• Posture and ergonomics
• Screen habits
• Movement and regulation
• Mental wellbeing
• Considerations from school through to work

Join us to consider these issues from both physical and psychological perspectives.

As our children grow, we naturally want to give them more freedom, independence, and responsibility. But freedom doesn’t mean anything goes, and parenting teenagers often means figuring out where the fine print sits.

This Saturday, I’ll be chatting with Renée DS on AfriKaap Radio about parenting teens, independence, boundaries, responsibility and the often-messy space in between.
