Zola Secondary School was established in June 1997. The school first occupied the abandoned buildin In June 1999 the school relocated to Thembani in Khayelitsha.
The school was started in 1997, out of the necessity to divide Masiyile Secondary School in Khayelitsha, with its 3700 learners and 96 teachers, into three different schools. Subsequently Zola and a sister school Zinza (Thembelihle) was born. In January 1998 a new principal was appointed and four heads of department acted as management members.

We attended a High School Jam competition which was held on 21 July 2012 at Grand West
Auditorium.
All choirs were given 25 - 30 minutes to perform. If it was not the minute that we exceeded, we could have been on the finals the following day. The judges as well as the audience loved our
performance.
We will be hosting our Matric Dance on 25 September 2012, Lord Charles
hotel in Somerset. Valedictory service for grade 12 will be on 13
October 2012. Spring school will commence on the first Monday of
September holidays and is compulsory for all grade 12's.
