Some school traditions live on in the memories of those who experienced them. 💚

As we celebrate 120 years of our Dear Old School, we’re looking back at birthday traditions from years gone by. From the tree planting ceremony to the much anticipated birthday doughnuts.

📸 These photographs capture celebrations in 1983 (77 years), 1984 (78 years), and 1992 (86 years).

We would love to hear your favourite Oakhurst birthday memories. Share them in the comments. 🎉

Happy 2026, OOGU! 💚

Over the last few years, we have been sorting through our archives and have noticed some gaps in our collection.

This has inspired a project where we are asking YOU, our Oakhurst old girls and staff alumni, to share any photos you might have kept from your time at our dear old school.

Please follow the link in our bio if you are interested in sharing. 📸

What a night!

Our very first Old Girls’ Captain Hare’s Party was filled with so much laughter, nostalgia, and Oakhurst magic!

We kicked things off the traditional way, warming up to “Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow”, and ended the evening with the iconic Russian Drinking Song, just like old times.

A huge THANK YOU to Mrs Davis for leading us through the beloved Captain Hare’s classics, and to Ms Eland for getting everyone moving with her fabulous line dancing moves. You brought the energy, the memories, and all the heart!

And to all our Old Girls, Staff Alumni and Oakhurst staff who joined us, thank you for making the night unforgettable. 💚

Here’s to many more dances, reunions, and traditions brought back to life!

Long live Oakhurst, Dear Old School!
